WindStar Cruise
Treasures of the Aegean
Tauck World Discovery and
Wind Star Cruise
September 21 - October 4, 2005

The Wind Star is a motored-sail- yacht (msy) which can unfurl in two minutes at the push of a button, billowing white sails reach to the sky. All functions are operated from the bridge by computer microchips and navigational devices. The unusual “open-bridge” operation allows guests to drop by and acquaint themselves with the veteran captains and officers.

The Wind Star is a semi all-inclusive yacht. Everything is included except alcoholic drinks. The ship's capacity is 148 passengers (based on double occupancy.) Through an agreement with Tauck World Discovery and WindStar, 43 of us were with the Tauck Treasures of the Aegean group. We sailed with Wind Star for 7 beauitiful nights and enjoyed the local tours schedued through Tauck.

All staterooms and suites offer ocean views, sitting area, LCD flatscreen TV, DVD, CD player, safe, mini-bar/refrigerator, international direct-dial phones, bathroom with luxurious pampering toiletries, hair dryer, plush terry cloth robes, and an abundance of closet space. The library on board stocks an array of international newspapers, books and games, as well as a multi-media selection of more than 500 DVD titles and compact discs available for complimentary check-out.

My old friend Judy and I left our husbands behind for this trip. Now that he has seen the pictures, my husband is jealous that he didn't come along. That's okay, Wally, you can take me next time!

The quality of the food and service is excellent. You will never go hungry on the WindStar!

Just so you know the cast, in the first photo, top row, that's me on the left and Judy on the right. Other photos on this page are members of the Tauck Tour group.
