Public Transportation in the Myrtle Beach Area:
The Myrtle Beach area is served by the Myrtle Beach International Airport, located on the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base base on the south side of town. The airport opened in 1976 and has served the Myrtle Beach area continuously.
The Coast RTA (formerly Lymo) is the link to public transportation. More than a bus service, they offer services that make getting around Coastal Carolina easier and more efficient. The services in lnclude a bus system, Neighborhood circulators, curb-to-curb Paratransit service for medically qualified, physically challenged customers, Dash About for Seniors, CATS (ADA service), and numerous community service shuttles.
