Wally and I spent ten nights here in January, 2001 and enjoyed it immensely. It’s a beautiful scenic resort, located on the northern tip of St. Lucia.
Le Sport differs somewhat from other all-inclusives as it includes daily spa services which are located in the Oasis - a "temple to well-being" built to resemble the Alhambra in Spain.
This resort brags of a 65% return rate, and I can see why. We loved the diversity of the guests - from England, Scotland, France, Holland, Germany, Canada and the U.S., singles, couples and groups of all ages (18 and up.)
Rooms are nicely decorated including ceramic tile floors and king-size four-poster or twin beds. Bathrooms are marble tiled. Each room has a balcony or terrace; deluxe rooms are on the ocean or have a view of it.
You have to be a bit careful in leaving the patio door open, as birds will fly inside to look for crumbs. (They also fly right out again as they seem to know their way around.) Also, the mosquitos are very bad, so carry repellent with you whereever you go and do a "mosquito check" before bed each night.
They offer a large sit-down area for dining, as well as a snack bar near the water for salads and sandwiches. Tao Restaurant, which is an east-west fusion restaurant, requires reservations. It is an intimate setting with emphasis on presentation and service, but the taste is also excellent. You can pay extra for certain menu selections, since this restaurant is open to the public, but the menu makes it very clear what is included and what’s not. Drinks are all included, name brand if you ask. Tao was named by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine as one of the 60 “Hot Tables” in the world, and it was truly special.
At The BodyHoliday, we enjoyed the Piano Bar almost every evening. Enjoy pre and apres dinner drinks in this elegant air-conditioned setting, where we met so many wonderful people.
You are assigned 2 spa services per day. The treatments designated for my husband and myself were never scheduled at the same time. which isn't good if you have somehing else planned. If you decide to cancel one of the more popular treatment, you may or may not get it rescheduled. It is also a long hike up the stairs to the Oasis, and it gets tiring a times.
Included: fencing. aerobics, gym, hot tub, sauna, spa, croquet, hiking, dive shop, snorkeling, windsurfing, waterskiing, boats, daily golf lessons, T’ai Chi, yoga and meditation classes, tennis lessons, and an 18-hole golf course (which I understand is shared with Sandals St. Lucia) and of course all meals and drinks.
