Where to Tee Off in 2016
The Travel Channel's take on the "Best Golf Courses on the Grand Strand."
The only question is: Where to play first? Lowcountry salt marshes? Budget-friendly fairways? Magnolia-strewn plantations? Myrtle Beach has them all, and oftem with discounted multi-course packages. Here are a few of our favorite places to hit the green in Myrtle Beach
Greens for Less Green
OK, true: To play True Blue, and our other courses so far, is not cheap, ranging from $100 to $185, depending on the season. But many other Myrtle Beach courses are very affordable, with unique charms that stand up to the big boys.

WMBF "America's 100 Greatest Public Courses"
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Two of Myrtle Beach's golf courses ranked among “America's 100 Greatest Public Courses” in the February 2015 issue of Golf Digest.
Dunes Golf and Beach Club ranked number 50 and Caledonia Golf and Fish Club ranked number 73. "Congratulations to the Dunes Club and Caledonia for being ranked among America's 100 Greatest Public Courses," Myrtle Beach Golof Holiday President, Bill Golden said.
The Dunes Club was designed by Trent Jones, Sr, and opened in 1948. The course has hosted professional golf events, including the U.S. Women's Open, six Senior PGA Tour Championships, and the PGA Professional National Championship.
A Mike Strantz design, Caledonia's layout was crafted on over 100 acres of property. The course has an antebellum style clubhouse that requires a forced carry over water.
“Myrtle Beach has more outstanding golf courses than any destination in the country, and having two layouts ranked among America's top 100 public courses is further affirmation of that quality,” Golden said. Golf Digest chose the golf courses based on shot values, resistance to scoring, design variety, memorability, aesthetics, and conditioning.
