Oscars gets my vote. The owners are from Pittsburgh and have brought a little of the "the Burgh" with them. I ate there twice last week when we were in town for the weekend. Great bar food food, fresh cut french fries, big portions. good prices, what's not to like? They serve their sandwiches on Mancini's Bread (a local Pittsburgh favorite) and they bring the dough in from Mancini's and bake the bread fresh at the bar. Thet even serve the classic Pittsburgh salad with french fries in the salad!

Not fancy, but good people and great food. You should give it a try when you are in North Mytle Beach (accross the street from the Grand Prix Amusement Park).

Brian and I went to Oscars this week to watch Monday Night Football, Steelers vs. the Ravens. We had an incredible experience!!!! It became one HUGE Steerler's party as we found ourselves enveloped by our favorite team colors, exhuberant cheering, high-fives, happy dances :nanner: and collective groans at bad calls and missed plays. The atmosphere was simply contagious.

This place is huge with a very nice bar and lots of tables - however, do yourself a favor and go early if the Steeler's are playing because this place gets packed! There are dozens of flat screen TVs lining the walls so you're assured that wherever you sit, you'll be able to watch the game...even if it's in the bathroom!!! No waiting till halftime for the necessary bio break! I am NOT kidding!

The beer was good and cold, drafts of Yeungling for $2.25! For the serious Pittsburghians, they even serve Iron City!

We didn't try the food (had just eaten dinner) but found the menu to be quite extensive...lots of options for everyone: bar food, sandwiches, soup, and salads. The most intriguing: deep fried meatballs and deep fried macaroni & cheese bites. Is there anything a deep fryer can't do???? LOL Even though we weren't hungry, the food smelled fabulous and looked delicious as it made it's way past our table. Staff was excellent, bartenders and waitresses were very friendly and attentive.

Our tab for a great night out: 4 beers at $2.25 + tax and tip - now that's a great Steel(er)!!!!!!

Looking forward to more football games this season!
Colleen

We stopped by for a late night dinner after we arrived in Myrtle Beach last Friday night. The place seemed the same as before Freddy passed away and the food is still great. Our waitress told us that Freddy's wife, Carla, does not plan on selling the restaurant or changing anything.

I really like this place, everyone is so friendly and they have great bar food. The kitchen is open until 1:00 AM, great place for a late night snack.
