I had a question that I wanted to throw out there. We will be coming down in two weeks and I've golfed quite a few courses along the Strand but I was wondering what courses would you really reccomend playing if you wanted to play a really good one. I've played Wacchesaw East, The Witch, Wicked Stick, Barfeoot which were all good tracks but I want to try somewhere new. I don't care about the price as long as it's nice and you can get a round in around 4-4.5 hrs.

We're staying in Garden City so I'm kind of looking to play down the southern end.

Thanks!

The Heritage and True Blue courses are regarded as high end in our home.

Surfmaster iss a cool building... We've stayed at Oceanside Village at a friends house for the last 15 years or so....

I always wanted to check out the surfmaster condos with the hot tubs

Yeah the penthouses each have their own hot tub which is sweet to chill in late at night. I've been staying there since I was in college and now with my wife. We screwed up this year and waited too long to get one of the places we usually rent but I think we found a sweet place down the street. I'm just going to have to hoof it up the beach to play bocce with my buddy that stays there at the same time as us each year.

Honestly you can't go wrong with that building every condo we've ever rented has been top notch. whether you go through Garden City Realty or a individual owner we've had great luck.

We're getting excited to be coming down I'll give a report on the course/courses I decide to play. Keep it in the short grass everyone.

Well I decided to play Caledonia on September 8th and man what a great track. I was extremely happy with the quality and care that is spent on taking care of such a beatiful course. Shot in the low 80's which was par for the course for me and got to play with a great couple from Baltimore. The Gator on #12 was an added bonus and the beuty of the course made it a great day of golf. Next time I think I'll try True Blue or the Heritage I don't think you can do wrong by any of the three courses. Great course and would definitley play it again. Thanks for the great suggestions everyone.

Torb,

Glad you liked Caledonia... I would worry for you if you didn't... :nanner:

We swap a set of courses in/out every trip but we have kept TB/Cal double day on the schedule the last 5 years straight! And will play them again this October...

Heritage is also a great course... Damn... Life is GOOD!!!!!!!!!

Torb,

Last time I was in MB was four years ago, but everyone in our group really liked Caldonia and True Blue, great courses which I would recommend to anyone going to MB.

Second choices were Kings North and Long Bay next would have been River Club and Willbrook.

The only course we were really disappointed in was Litchfield

Have a great trip I'm headed back in Oct.

Thanks guys for the other course recommendations. I've got another question for you all if you can help. Me and coupel buddies are looking to set up a golf trip this coming spring and I wanted to know if you all have someone you've used int he past to go through to set up a trip. We'd like to be able to play the courses down along the southern strand such as Caledonia, True Blue, The Heritage, TPC. I've never really looked into setting up a golf only trip so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Again!

We've been coming down for 20 years and have found that www.breakers.com paradise towers at 21st N is the place to stay. Gloria the golf directer has served us very well for many years.

There's also a guy on the Board here, Glenn from http://www.eatdrinksleepgolf.com
I believe him to be reputable.

Check out www.mbga.com for for some good info.

Hey GOUTES: When will you be down? Where ya stayin'?
We're down 10/10-10/17 and staying at the Breakers...
