I have two small dogs I want to bring with me, are they allowed on the beach? Is it only certain times of day? Where else can they go??? Is it safe to leave them in your room or condo during the day? I worry about maids/etc opening the door. Also, are the balconies safe for small dogs???

Hi, and welcome to our message board. Here's a link to a page that contains pet laws:

I would ask about the dimensions of the patio before you go. Or measure it against the size of your dogs when you get there. Also, I would check with the management (or owners) as to how the maids handle entrance to a room that contains two dogs.

You should come to one of the Myrtle Beach campgrounds. It's much better for the dogs and you'll feel a lot better about leaving them. You can rent campers locally and they'll put them on site. That's how we came with our dogs and they were safe and we could go out without worrying about them. The dogs feel very at home in a camper and they never seemed to mind us leaving them. In the motels they were never happy and we were afraid to leave them alone. We also have 2 small dogs. You can sit out with the dogs, walk them on the beach, walk them in the campground and never worry.

Sounds great. I was even thinking of renting a small beach house but would like oceanfront. Anyone know of any that will let you have dogs? I thought that would cut out the maid problem. ???
