We decided to try this place since it was mentioned in Conde Nast Traveler, and posted here by me not long ago. (Here it is again.)

It is within walking distance of the Boardwalk, and since we were downtown for Sun Fun, it was crowded. You can eat in the restaurant, or outside if there is room. The "Art" figures into the name because the walls are filled with local artists photos (not mine - I wasn't asked) which are there for viewing and also for sale,

We ordered The Art Burger, priced at $11. Ground Beef Patty, Thickly Sliced Bacon Marinated Red Onion, Blue Cheese Crumbles, and Walnut Chutney

I thought it was very good, but we had asked for medium, and both burgers came out rare. Not rare enough to send back, but certainly not medium. The fries were cold, and we DID complain about that. Within a few minutes we were presented with HOT fires, and plenty of them...certainly more than we could eat.

The wait was long, but this was probably because the restaurant was so crowded.

Would I go back? Yes! All the burgers contain a special filling, and I loved mine! the photo does not do it justice.

Wally still prefers River City Cafe (also mentioned in the article.) I think this is because we have had many, many good experiences there in the past, and the menu is so familiar that we usually know what we want before we get in the restaurant. We both like the River City buns better, although you have to admit that the Art Burger branding on the top bun is a striking touch.

Thanks for the review. The burger looks really good. I will keep this place in mind as I begin my new restaurant search for vacation.

May sound like a silly question, but were you able to enjoy that actual artwork. I believe the concept was originally to rotate the collection monthly (or weekly) combining a permanent collection with local artists. Perhaps that has changed. The burgers sound good (the sushi not so much), but getting to enjoy and view the work of local artisans would be very appealing to me.

Scott, you know a lot more about the artists than I. But now I see...you must be guld member in order to hang your pictures!

Here's what I know which isn't much since I was hungry and not wanting to spend time looking at art. When you walk in the restaurant it's like walking onto a school bus. There are walls on either side, filled with art. . Some of them seem to be permanent. Most have prices. People are coming and going all the time, so if you stop for awhile to look you are taking up hallway space.

Sorry I can't be of more help. (The burgers were good!) .

The wife and I hit this place for lunch yesterday. Loved it. She ordered a turkey/avocado burger and I just went with an All-American burger. Great staff, great food and fun atmosphere. We'll be back.

Thanks for your positive comments. Did you eat outside? I have been twice (once with Wally and again with a girlfriend) but due to weather issues nobody was outside.
