Well.....
We planned on running down for long weekend for New Years Eve. Life threw us a curve and we're staying home.
Hmmm.....
Couple days off next week here at house with ol' what's her name.......
Guess it could be worse....

Scheduled last full week of May and last full week of Sept for 2017 beach trips.
No reservations yet but you know us.
Might be broom closet at Wal Mart but we'll be there somewhere.......

If any PA or NY folk are interested...
We're in planning stages of another Gettysburg trip over 4th of July
Always heard it was best time for re-enactments. Heat and crowds could be a wrinkle.

Sorry you had to change your NYE plans. Weather should be decent. Right now (2 PM) it is 58 and mostly sunny.

We are planning to go to a NYE party in the 'hood that starts at 9. Market Common is having their imitation New York Times Square with music and entertainment, plus fireworks at midnight. My guess is that we'll do an hour or two at the party, and if the crowd at Market Common looks anything like last year (it gets worse every year) we will skip it and come home. Chances are good we won't stay up to see the fireworks. If we do we will be wrapped in heavy robe sitting on the front porch. Not only is it not fun to get old, we're turning into utterly boring people!

Happy New year!

Sounds like us! Lol. We are going to a New Year's Eve pot luck tonight with friends. It starts at 7:00. Dave had a nap this afternoon but I will be lucky if he lasts until 9:30. I must admit that suits me just fine. :) :beerchug: Happy New Year!

Snow day...
Great day to make reservations.....
Been off most of last two weeks and I waited for snow day......
The joys of being a procrastinator.......

Most of you know my enjoyable dealings with Wyndham..
Other day I did call and after an hour on hold and no vacancies I "voiced my opinion"......
Guess what....
Reservations guy hooked me up with the Ovations department and got information on getting out......
After all those sales meetings and blow ups.....
A lowly reservations guy pointed me in right direction...
First step is use as many stored points as possible...

Anyway
May 21-28
Sept 21-Oct 1
Both trips to the Maritime in Ocean Drive

Also booked Gettysburg. Regular booking. Not vacation club..
July Fourth is always big doin's up there so wasn't sure what chances were going to be.
Site showed how many were searching same site...
How many were booking....
Rooms were being booked faster than I could hunt and peck my information....
Thought for sure they'd run out before I finished but did get a room.....

Shew...
Time for nap....

I'm so happy that after ALL this time you finally found some helpful information!

I'll let you drive the golf cart all around Market Common if you'll let me see the view from your balcony at Maritime.

You'd be more than welcome on our balcony....
Not sure what you'd see that would be different from other balconies......
Ruann might need to drive the elevator....
I had trouble with it the entire week last year....
Just out of habit always hit bottom button.....
That's the only place I've ever seen at the beach.....
With a basement......

I spent NYE in Gettysburg. Which hotel are you staying at in July? I used to go every year for the anniversary weekend, but stopped two years ago as the crowds became too much. Living only an hour and 10 mins from Gettysburg we get to go there at least 10 times a year or so.

Our NMB trip will probably be in August again, not sure which week. Rumor has it my aunt/uncle are going in June instead of with us in August.

Alan - we are going to look at those dates. The "bike week" is 5/26-5/29 in case you had not checked.

So about Gettysburg - tell me more about your plan....if you have one

Didn't check Bike Week dates. Always shoot for week in between. Catch end of one and beginning of other. Pretty much used to them now. Harley Week not half as bad as before all the new laws were passed.
Black bikes are showing up earlier now than years before. Tuesday/Wednesday you start seeing them. Behavior in NMB not as bad as MB.
Traffic about the same as Harley Week. Noise not as bad. High pitched when close but doesn't carry as far. Harley is loud from a block away.
Actually enjoyed watching them last year. Talked with a few and helped one with his bike. Probably the worst I saw (wasn't terrible bad) was at Avista. Club flags and banners hanging from baloneys and hip-hop/rap music blaring during the day. At night it was comical watching them run in and out of Avista garage. Like bees circling a hive.

Gettysburg....
Planning on driving up on Saturday. Booked Sleep Inn on York Road. They were booking fast when I booked. I was afraid they'd run out before I got my info entered.
Other than that no plans.
Hoping to finish the Visitors Center. Takes a few hours and Ruann got antsy last time.
Probably another ghost tour.....

I'm hoping that the city of Myrtle won't let this happen...... if so, we'll have to clean out the local Wal-Mart and have plenty of block parties!
