I have 2013 Subaru Crosstrek and Corine just got a 2011 Nissan Rogue. They're both equipped with gps and xm radio. We were originally going to take the Rogue down to the beach this year since it has much less miles on it than my Crosstrek and a bit more room. However, two weeks ago we took it on a mini vacation around Virginia and the thing is much more of a gas hog than the Crosstrek.

Do we sacrifice a bit more packing/leg room for gas mileage and racking up more miles? It's a big time decision haha

Which one is more comfortable ?

We just got a used Hyundai Sonata and the seats are horrible for long trips. Will probably take the Toyota van down even though it gets worse mileage unless I can find some sort of padded seat cover.... any recommendations ?

They're both equally comfortable, like I said the Rogue has a bit more leg room and a bigger hatch for storage. I'll be driving either way.

I just Google searched "padded seat covers, cars" and a bunch of items popped up.

When I drive down I look at comfort and don't worry about the cost of gas.
In Canada we are paying $1.06 per litre
1 gallon = 3.785 litres
1.06 X 3.785 is = to $4.01 per gallon

So technically we are paying $4.00 per gallon. To drive down and get gas at your prices is a bargain and I'll use as much as I can and still be saving money

I would go for room and comfort. We always end up max packed on the way home and have never went home thinking we have too much cargo space.

I would opt for more comfort. Our gas prices have been creeping up, but generally SC is one of the lowest - an often THE lowest - price states in the US. Even without the gas consideration, I would choose the one most comfortable for travel.
