Just throwing this out there because they aren't around anymore and hoping someone can suggest someplace similar... But years ago there was a place called Po Folks that was amazing... and then a few years ago we just happened upon the Ghost Ship, which we loved too... Was told they were reopened somewhere else but we haven't been able to find it ... Is there anyplace similar to these?

Po Folks, that was the place near Inlet Square Mall, right?
What about it are you looking to get close to, it was not the ambiance,
what did they serve that your looking for?

Ghost Ship was in the Inlet, it is now Lazy Gator Gift Shop.

There was talk of a Ghost Ship opening in the plaza at the corner of Atlantic and 17,
but nothing ever came of it, not sure if it was the original owners or someone just using the name to get business :)

There are plenty of buffet choices around and a lot are larger than what this was, such as The Original Benjamin's on Restaurant Row.

I'm sure this has been posted before, but I've never been to Calabash. What are some decently priced best tasting restaurants up there?

Bud it may have just been the company we had at the time.. great people and many laughs... Ghost Ship .. We really liked the buffet and it wasnt as expensive as some of the others...

I know the last several years we had gone to originals benjamins in surfside but they weren't open in Sept when we went last year .. don't know if they were shut down for good or the season..

Thee olde debate, Beck's or Ella's, well they are both owned by the same family and both have been there forever in one form or other.

Callahan's is always ranked up there.

And now there is a new option, right in front of the Calabash Fishing Fleet, Fish Shack, fish right off the boat, it was swimming a few hours ago.

Metric, for years before Big Daddy's at the corner of 17 S and 17 biz in MB, it was Texas Roadhouse (or something like that,) the charcoal grill at the bar is still in use and the place is pretty much the same.

I may have to check one of those Calabash sites out soon in the coming years.

Damon's on the Blvd is good and the view is better and another place for a great lunch and view is Greg Norman's along the Waterway at Barefoot.

I have had a lot of folks tell me they do not go there due to the prices, which like a number of places here are on the high side for dinner, yet the lunch menu is wonderful and priced right.

Luv, really I have not been in here since maybe 1980, I was not impressed back then, but there were also not a lot of choices in those days.

I always figured it was a tourist place as it is one of the few places that close during the winter.

Could you tell me (us) what you like about it.

I do know that a lot of reviews, like on Trip Advisor for Captain Benjamin's are actually for the Original Benjamin's on restaurant row, when they say $30 and place is huge, 175+ items, etc, it is about the Originals.

Unfortunately, this happens frequently, as names are similar at many of our restaurants.

Looks like I'll be referring back to this post to find some new places to eat this year. Quigley's might be on the list again as well.

That time of year again. Looks like we may add Carolina Roadhouse, Pawley's Island Tavern, and possibly one more
