OK .. had to take a break today and go with hubby to bring a car back so he could go on to work in the opposite direction.. so I'm just getting home and haven't accomplished anything yet.. slight headache...I think its because we actually have sun today lol..

ANYWAY.. love the list Patrish... Mine is similar but not in all the detail lol.. BUT thanks for the info on the baby powder .. I pack every year but didn't know about it getting sand off ... just went and put a small bottle in my beach bag!!!

A lesson I learned the hard way. I wear prescription glasses and one year while in Myrtle Beach they were broken! I had to wear my dark lens prescription glasses until they could be replaced. Not fun! Now I take an extra pair along just in case.

Dress shoes

Do they make flip-flops with leather soles and wing-tip stitching ? :tongue3:

Patrish's suggestion of bringing a photocopy of credit cards (front and back) is a great idea in case of loss or theft....all the bank info is immediately available. A much better suggestion than dress shoes

Something to add to a list that most of you wouldn't need, but us contact wearers would, a couple extra contacts, solutions, and cases.

I see reading glasses listed on Patrish's list. Yeah, that's something new to me now, LOL, and I'm sure I wouldn't think of packing them. Though, I just use the cheapies at Walmart/grocery stores so they would be easy to pick up.

Well after my cataract surgery in May my vision is much better .. left eye is perfect .. distance over all is not bad .. but still need readers.. Dr. told me that I should get the prescription glasses made which also has tint to them for protection of the left/surgery eye and because my right eye now being the weaker eye that when I drive a long distance will get lazy and tired.. So I am getting that done tomorrow so I'll have them before we leave..another unexpected thing to add to my list .. lol Really don't know why because hubby does all the driving lol... BUT as far as being on the beach, regular sunglasses are fine!!

Over sized clothes pins (securing beach towels on balcony/chairs)
Lysol
Small fan (had to buy one last year when our bedroom was a little warm)
Liquid hand soap (better than the hotel supplied tiny bars)
Plastic cups/plates/silverware
Travel size first aid kit

clothes pins to pin shut those pesky curtains in the room! Almost every room i've been in has your bedroom right inside the hallway and the curtains can never quite shut the whole way. Seems nuts, but it drives me crazy!

Great suggestions, y'all!

I usually start with a huge master list, then x what I need on a particular trip with red ink. I print the list again for the next trip.

Kirk, you just have no sense of style. :clown:
I'm sure Jan can have some made-to-order on her next flight. (Note to Jan: order the right size 'cause no one else would want them!)

Maybe they were going off the dress shoes thread-drift

Haven't seen this listed... but if we are driving to MB, we always bring down a blender. Some VRBO units include them, but are usually pretty beat. Nothing says "beach" more than a frozen boat drink ! And making them in your room saves some $ :sunny:

Well Folks!!! I'm trying to figure how I can downsize because even when I plan I end up packing to much OR I need to get ONE BIG tote and not take two .. LOL... I know last year I took things I didn't even wear. I'm going to have to take a little time and think this through.

The wife buys the pre-frozen packs to take to the beach. She blends at home, but on vacation we splurge and buy the pre-mixed ready to drink out of the pouch.
