Peanut, that is a GREAT idea!!!!!!! I think I'm going to try that with the bags. I don't pack clothes for all of the days. I'll probably only pack 4 outfits per kid, then do a load of wash while we're there.

I do have a bag for each kid. I'm a bag addict.

Muffy...I, too, have/use the envelopes to budget our vacation ...we save all year...I keep receipts for the past year's trip to plan how much money we need for each day...

We have packed with the zip lock bags, too...great for the kids!

I not only pack by a list but keep a box labeled 'Beach' with all the basics in it.
I keep clothespins, hand soap, dish detergent and a sample pack of laundry detergent for emergencies in the box. We also have directions to the beach and other places in there. Makes it easier to have all this is one place from year to year.

I don't have a physical packing list, but quite the extensive mental one. I do however have a "to do" list before we depart for our trip, which I make just because I enjoy crossing stuff off of it.

No list. My wife packs the day before. When I get home, I sneak in the bedroom and take everything out of the 6 suitcases, refold everything, repack it into 3 suitcases, put 3 empty suitcases into the closet, and run them out to the car before she sees I repacked, lol.

If I left her alone, I would need a car topper and a trailer. Repacking, most of it fits under the floor of our Rav4 and there's barely anything in the cargo area.

My surface is being stupid and not letting me pull up my packing list.. I have random spots throughout the house that I am adding things to in my collection of Thirty-One bags.. (handsoap, wipes, dishwasher soap, dawn, laundry det.... a bag at the door for shoes.. trying to narrow that one down.. etc..) beach chairs are already bagged.. just have to put the new trunk mat in and the cover it up before I load them up LOLOL.. we got our new car last year before we left for MB.. I seldom drive it and it only has 2961 (that is correct) miles on it .. so towels under mats, sheets on seats LOLOL.. we are protective LOL... BUT now to fight with my surface for a while and try to retrieve my list, while I wait on directv to come fix this little box... fun time just waiting...

OK .. had to take a break today and go with hubby to bring a car back so he could go on to work in the opposite direction.. so I'm just getting home and haven't accomplished anything yet.. slight headache...I think its because we actually have sun today lol..

ANYWAY.. love the list Patrish... Mine is similar but not in all the detail lol.. BUT thanks for the info on the baby powder .. I pack every year but didn't know about it getting sand off ... just went and put a small bottle in my beach bag!!!

A lesson I learned the hard way. I wear prescription glasses and one year while in Myrtle Beach they were broken! I had to wear my dark lens prescription glasses until they could be replaced. Not fun! Now I take an extra pair along just in case.

Dress shoes

Do they make flip-flops with leather soles and wing-tip stitching ? :tongue3:

Patrish's suggestion of bringing a photocopy of credit cards (front and back) is a great idea in case of loss or theft....all the bank info is immediately available. A much better suggestion than dress shoes

Something to add to a list that most of you wouldn't need, but us contact wearers would, a couple extra contacts, solutions, and cases.

I see reading glasses listed on Patrish's list. Yeah, that's something new to me now, LOL, and I'm sure I wouldn't think of packing them. Though, I just use the cheapies at Walmart/grocery stores so they would be easy to pick up.

Well after my cataract surgery in May my vision is much better .. left eye is perfect .. distance over all is not bad .. but still need readers.. Dr. told me that I should get the prescription glasses made which also has tint to them for protection of the left/surgery eye and because my right eye now being the weaker eye that when I drive a long distance will get lazy and tired.. So I am getting that done tomorrow so I'll have them before we leave..another unexpected thing to add to my list .. lol Really don't know why because hubby does all the driving lol... BUT as far as being on the beach, regular sunglasses are fine!!

Over sized clothes pins (securing beach towels on balcony/chairs)
Lysol
Small fan (had to buy one last year when our bedroom was a little warm)
Liquid hand soap (better than the hotel supplied tiny bars)
Plastic cups/plates/silverware
Travel size first aid kit
