First trip back to Myrtle Beach in a few years. Looking for anything new we shouldn't miss. I have been reading trip reports, looking for the best restaurants, and we have little ones this time 2yrs, 1yr and 10 months ... so Grandma also looking for fun things to do with them. Discovered the Children's Museum (in case of rain) anyone been there? Also looking for any 2nd had stores, flea markets to search for special finds - so looking for any ideas.

Thank You

I know my mother has taken my nephew to the children's museum on more than one occasion and he loved it! I've never been myself.

We've been to the Children's Museum! Definitely a great option for a rainy day - which is what we did with our at-the-time just over 1 year old son. It's small and was packed, but it was a rainy day so we expected it. There's a lot to do with young ones, and it's really about keeping them entertained! Always look for the coupons for the museum.

My son and us both really enjoy the Ripley's Aquarium, located at Broadway at the Beach. (look for coupons again! I think sometimes they offer discount tickets bought early online, haven't checked this year yet though). This is great for if it rains, or you want a break from the sun. Little ones will be in awe!

kglugin, there are several playgrounds in the Grand Strand area that your little ones might enjoy. There is one at Broadway at the Beach and another in Grand Park near The Market Common (just across the lake.) You can do a google search for playgrounds and parks (which are always free) to find one near where you are staying.

Don't know where you're staying, but there's a free playground in Surfside that leads to a short pier with a pretty pier where people go crabbing. Directions: Take17 Business S toward Garden City Beach. You'll see 2 overhead signs - one says Garden City Connector, and the other says Pine Ave. - both signs point left. Turn left here and go about half a mile to the dead-end at Elizabeth. The park is straight ahead at the dead end. Pull in, and you can park free .

The Wacccatee Zoo is inexpensive and fun for young children. This is not a fancy city zoo. It's actually a family-run "farm" with various animals. But our grandson enjoyed it at age 2 1/2. Here are a couple of not very helpful pictures, but they are all I have:

I have put together a list of things to do here:

Hope this help!s
