But is there a hotel in MB that faces an area where fishing boats come in. I hope you understand what I am saying very poorly. We
Love watching the ocean. We went to hilton head 5 years ago for our 50th anniversary and ate at a restaurant called Hudson's. It faced an area where fishing boats came in and watching the live activity absolutely made our entire vacation. It's my fondest memory. Is there a hotel that offers a similar view of something like that in MB??

Lou, there are only 2 places the fishing boats come in...Little River and Murrells Inlet. The casino boats only come into Little River. I can't think of accommodations around Murrells Inlet that offer this view, except private residences. I don't know about Little River. I'm trying to picture the LR area in my mind and all I see are the restaurants and boats....no hotels or condos. Hope someone else will know more than I do.

I spent a little time looking at google maps and all I could find was Harbourgate Resort & Marina in North Myrtle Beach. It has Harbor/Marina view rooms. http://www.oceanaresorts.com/harbourgate/ Will this work? :dontknow:

Thanks. I didn't think there was. It would probably be to far away to be convenient anyhow.

I have very fond memories of Hudson's restaurant too! Went to HH as a kid, and we stumbled upon Hudson's. You're absolutely right, a great view of something we don't get to see too often...and great food!

Rick it was the most memorable part of our anniversary celebration. Wish there was more views like that at more restaurants.

What about Calabash? Only time I've been there was after dark so no idea what the view of docks and waterway would be. Looking at satellite view it looks like row of fishing boats near the restaurants.

Harborgate in Little River over looks large marina for recreational boats but no fishing boats. Same with smaller marina up behind Little River Holiday Inn. Unless they remodeled the Holiday Inn they had nice restaurant that overlooked the marina.

Out of the way and no where near MB. Shem Creek down close to Charleston, SC. Shem Creek Inn is right on the waterway with fishing boats just across from the hotel. Gets good reviews with couple places to eat in same general area. Could always fit a quick 1-2 day Charleston trip into your next MB trip.
