I really don't know how this could possibly work. Kings Hwy. is already a mess during the evenings and forcing everyone else onto it for 4 blocks sounds like the recipe for gridlock. Unless something is done to make parking cheaper I doubt this will make many more people want to go downtown.

That was my thought also.... making it cheap (and easy) to park close by is necessary, otherwise the crowds will go elsewhere and this "downtown" risks becoming blighted. Also need some sort of traffic re-direction which is flawless... people sitting longer in traffic on either Ocean Blvd or Rte 17 is a recipe for disaster.

The commentary is New Orleans shuts streets with great success.... sorry, Bourbon St and the French Quarter in general is a totally different setup.

Government masterminds at work is a scary thing ! :ohnoes:
