We're staying at the Barefoot Resort (Willowbend neighborhood); want to get to the Coastal Grand Mall WITHOUT using Rte. 17 (horrible horrible traffic). If we exit out Marsh Glen Rd., are there any entrances to the Carolina Bays Parkway (Rte. 31) so we can pick up Rte. 501?

To put it simply, no there are no on-ramps for Carolina Bays Parkway between Veterans Highway (route 22) and the Robert Edge Parkway.

Thank you, Phroggy, that's what it looked like when I checked MapQuest.

Yup...I saw Phroggy's post last night, he's absolutely correct. I remember reading some time back that BF needed an additional exit road, but I guess nothing came of it.

I looked it up on map. Looks like Marsh Glen goes out the back onto Water Tower Rd and Water Tower has RT 31 access south side of RT 22..........

pop is right. You could go that route but I'm thinking it may be more trouble than what it's worth.

I know I'm late, I've been down and out :)

Any how, Water Tower Rd is used by many during the summer to avoid the traffic on 17, yet at this time of year depending upon where you are located within Barefoot, 17 is not a bad way to go to pick up 22 to 31. Also Water Tower Rd is now paved making it a no brainer to use during the summer.

I believe from now on we'll go out to 17, pick up 22 and take the Carolina Bays Pkwy to 544 on our twice weekly jaunts to Surfside Beach (husband bowls Wednesday and Friday mornings). Rte. 17 and all it's associated lights is not a pleasant ride. 31 has to be better

Yes 31 to 544 will be quicker. I bowl there Wed also, but at night.

Your husband may want to look at Little River for bowling next
time, it is closer for you, I know NMB are even closer but it is pretty
drab inside.

thanks Gary, we're going to try it Sunday morning when there's not so much traffic.

I'll look into the Little River Bowling Lanes; my husband bowls in what's called a Coffee League in Surfside and enjoys the format
