Hello, and welcome to our board! (I hope you don't mind, but I moved your topic the the 'relocation' forum.

When are you planning to move, and what can we help you with?

When we moved here 15 years ago, we made a list of things that were important to us. Near the airport, close to a hospital, and shopping, knowing our price range before starting to look for a house, east of the Waterway, etc.

Your list might include schools if you have children, or other things that you feel are important to you. Do you plan to look for a house immediately or rent first?

Please make yourself at home here on the board. We have lots of information in the relocation forum, and some members who have already moved here. We also have many good folks here who will be happy to answer your questions.

Welcome OutoftheCold 21,

So when are you planning to move to Myrtle Beach? My husband and I dream of someday moving to our favorite place.

Welcome OutoftheCold21!!! You have come to the right place to gather info. We've had many members make the plunge & I'm sure they'll chirp in soon. Since I'm in Upstate SC, I can't give you much advice except to say "Go for it!" I think we all have a secret longing to live in Myrtle Beach. Yes, I'm one of you, but Danny would rather stay put & travel down. At least he has promised trips more often like we used to do before life got in the way once he retires in a few years. :wav:

I look forward to reading your posts & following along on your adventure!

Sorry didn't post earlier but got busy. My wife and I decided to check other options such as Conway and north to Charleston. Heard that the same kind of warehouse I work at is there. That might help me get employed in a more timely manner, since I'm in my early 40's. Lots of work to do to figure where the best place to relocate. Still open to any advice you might have.

Probably rent for awhile. Not sure what else since this search is still in it's infancy.

Thank you all very much!!!!!

Welcome...this is the right place for information! My oldest daughter and her boyfriend are moving this weekend from Columbus, OH to Garner, NC (near Raleigh) ..both have jobs and have rented an apartment...better paying jobs and a nicer apartment! Not quite the beach but at least they will be closer and temps milder than Ohio! I can not wait to visit...they will be about three hours from the beach. We think! Good Luck in your search! JoAnn

Jo Ann, I'm sure they will love Garner (says the North Carolina native). That area is growing so fast! The Raleigh area will have some cold weather & snow in the winter, but nothing like y'all have in Ohio! And yes, it should be around 3 hours to MB from there.
