So this is actually our second year renting through VRBO (worked so great last time I don't think we will ever go back to renting through the hotels). I jut a few questions for the people out there that are still more familiar with this process than we are.
I sent a check for our down payment (went through no problems). We were then informed that we are to send a check with the remaining balance at least 2 weeks prior to our stay, and then we will get the keyless entry combo (awesome no fob or key!) and unit number for our stay. Can anyone tell me if this is normal? I didn't really think anything of it, but my husband was a little suspicious of it since we did a paypal account last time I believe. It's obviously a little scary sending personal checks. The condo owner has been really helpful and kind, so I doubt there is anything to worry about, but you never know. Can anyone just let me know if this is typical to pay all in personal checks? That may be a dumb question, but I am new to the VRBO thing. I did check the travelor reviews and they were all good. I also assume to be on VRBO you have to go through some sort of approval process etc, so it has to be rather legit.
