Conch Cafe website:
http://www.conchcafe.net/

Conch Cafe in Garden City Beach has been around since the 80s. The first time I ate lunch there, about 13 years ago, I ordered the Seafood Salad…and that is all I've ordered since. OK, I'm boring. But then a friend who has been living here longer than I, leaned over and said "I already know what I'm ordering….the seafood salad."

The Seafood Salad is priced at 12.00 and listed under "Lite Fare" on their menu. This salad makes two regular-sized meals for me, so I always carry half of it home in a box. It contains shrimp, scallops and crab in a delicious sauce.

A couple of my friends ordered the soup and salad, and said it was very good.

This restaurant is built like a huge raised house. The back porch is wide and long, and it offers beautiful ocean views looking both north and south

Here's a photo I took last week from the porch, looking South. You can see the Garden City Pier in the background:

It depends upon your definition of "kid friendly".

Kids are more than welcome, but they do not have a
childrens menu, like Driftwoods which I told you about a
couple of years ago and you enjoyed.

They do offer a hotdog w/fries for $4.50. that is the
extent I believe of a kids menu.

It is a nice place and I have enjoyed it on a number of
occasions for the beachfront ambiance, but it is pricey.

The various menus (appetizers, lunch, etc.) with prices are on the website. I've always liked the seafood salad which is still priced at $12.00. But all shrimp dishes in the area restaurants/ seafood stores have gone up so I wouldn't be surprised to see that change.

I was just thinking of the place for the view. I looked online at the menu and it is not cheap ( but not crazy expensive either). With no kids menu I doubt we will go though. We will definitely be hitting Driftwood's this year. My dad is pretty picky on his food, but said last year after eating Driftwood's one night and Lee's the next that he would just as soon go to Driftwood's. Didn't hurt that his bill was about 1/3 less at Driftwood's. Its a hidden gem.
