I am moving to North Myrtle Beach next month to live in a condo on or near the beach. What should I expect during bike weeks in the ocean drive or cherry grove areas during that time?

A few years ago, after the city of MB started laying down a lot of laws indicating bikers were not welcome, the city of North MB went out of their way to tell the bikers they were very welcome there.

I would plan events at home during this time. Make it a priority to meet your neighbors as soon as you get moved in. During bike weeks, get together with the neighbors who are within walking distance and plan cookouts or block parties where everyone can share food and a good time without having to get involved in traffic.

Alternately come on down to the Market Common. Plenty of stores, businesses and restaurants, excellent movie theater, plus a great park area with covered picnic tables, kids playground and a lake that is exactly a 1 mile walk around it. Hardly any bikers.

Stay away from Barefoot Landing. You won't be able to find a place to park and you'll waste time and effort getting in and then getting back out.

Thank you for the reply. That maybe a good time to visit relatives, lol. I love Market Commons, such a lovely area, I will visit often.

For anyone who lives in North Myrtle Beach if your were going to live there permanently where would you suggest for the quiet areas for most of the year? I am looking at condos in Ocean Drive and Cherry Grove area, I would love a beach front or view but I would think it would be crazy for most of the summer?

Thanks!
