I am going to be moving to the area in 5 months and I just want to know how hard it will be for me to find a job (waitress)? Also what the good areas are, and the bad ones to not to live in. I also want to make sure my 7 year old daughter will be going to a good school. I am also wanting to find a 3 bedroom house that is no more than 850 a month. Any help would be great thanks.

I have a page of job opportunities where you'll find a lot of restaurants listed (including a link to Divine Dining and Burroughs & Chapin.) You should not have problems finding a job as a waitress.

You might consider getting a job before you sign a rental agreement. The reason is the Grand Strand is a actually 60 miles, from Little River down south to Pawleys Island. You would not want to find a rental in the City of North Myrtle Beach, then realize you'll have to drive 30 miles each way to get to work.

Here are some suggestions for home rentals and/or apartment rentals.

Here's the 2010 "report card" for all the schools in Horry County.

If you decide to live in Murrells Inlet or further South, the the schools will be in Georgetown County instead of Horry County, and you can google the appropriate information.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for the information. I should have said my husband will be going first to find a job, and a place to live.

WELCOME!!
We moved here in May after coming down for 2 weeks in March and looking around! Best advice...Look at lot of apartments before u decide! We must have looked at a dozen or more before we signed a lease! I really like the Carolina Forest area, you are still close enough to everything but far enough away to stay away from the crowds! I found a job on Craig's List within 2 weeks of looking so it just depends on what u want!
Here's a few more sites that I looked at!

Like all vacation cities, MB has crime in the most congested areas such as downtown.

This link should help you in deciding where you may not want to be.
