We will need a 3-4 week rental in MB area beginning the start of November. We plan to to do some house hunting. We are not familiar with the area and was wonderng if anyone knows where to rent something furnished, even a hotel room, at under $1000/month. It has to be clean, bugless (sorry) and in nice area. Can anyone point us in the right direction for someone to talk to? mrsmac

I don't think you'll have any problem finding something nice in your price range. I just checked out The Sun News Rentals:

http://tinyurl.com/ygsgglu

You can check more than one option under Type of Housing. I entered Max. rental 1000 and clicked Durnished, simgle family, corporate short term, single family home, and cacation/seasonal.

I'm not familiar with all the areas of the Grand Strand, but in this list I noticed some that are considered good locations such as Carolina Forest, Palmetto Point, Coquina Harbor, Myrtlewood, Barefoot Resort, Blackmoore Golf Club. I only looked at the first two pages. If you come across something you like, post a message with it's location and I or someone else on the board will check it out for you.

Also, check out Vacation Rentals by Owners (VRBO.) These are individual owners who may be willing to cut you a better deal than rental companies.

Best wishes in your search. I hope you find something nice to rent as you begin to look for your new home at the beach!

Thank you. I do so appreciate your generosity about finding a rental. I hope I get such nice advice when I look for an area for our new home. mrsmac

If you have not found anything, try J.B. Allen Real Estate 1-800-310-9633
Jill manages over 100 condos in RIver Oaks Golf Plantation and rents for 1 month or longer.
I'm currently staying in one and they are great ( 2 bedroom/2 bathroom, furnished, kitchen, etc... clean, quiet...) and it will cost you about $850 for the month.
rgds,
Jack
