Hello all =]
I am honestly considering moving from Erie, Pa to Myrtle Beach. My husband and I are 21 and we have a 9 month old son. My husband is a truck driver, so it would just be my Son and I alot. I'm looking for information on the safest areas of MB and about the school systems.
I would also like some opinions on the weather there.. I'm not one for natural disasters. I didn't know MB had hurricanes!!

Anyway. Any and all information would be helpful.
We would be moving around 2011-2012.

You've come to the right place. You will get numerous responses here. I would advise once you have some options, come and look that area over and become familiar with it as well as the schools and the like. Good luck and wish you well in your move.

Hi and welcome. Well as far as natural disasters, I think you're more likely to have a blizzard in Erie, PA as a hurricane in MB! LOL Check out more of the posts in the Relocation forum. There are a lot of popular areas for housing and school information as well. Good luck!

Hello,

My family has relocated to the Grand Strand from PA. My family, parents, sister, and aunt & uncle are all here now. Most of us live in Surfside Beach, and we love the southern part of Myrtle Beach. My sister is in Carolina Forrest, and she's happy out there.

Good Luck!

Here are some links to previous posys regarding schools:

You can find average monthly temperatures here:

We moved here 11 years ago and left for only one hurricane; Floyd in 1999. The others were Bonnie (1998) Charley (2004). We did not experience damage from any of them except for the loss a few roof shingles. I would not let the thought of hurricanes deter me from moving to the coast. But that's just me.

Hope this helps. Please keep us informed about your plans!
