I don't have internet access while at our house in Longs next week. I was wondering if I could have a head count before we leave so I can call Tripps from here and let them know Approx. how many of us will be at dinner. Like Katie pointed out it will be July 4th week so I want to make sure they have us seated together. Thanks!

Here is what I have so far and please correct me if I am wrong...
Emmy, Paul, Sy, Emily (4)
Patrish & Wally (2)
Katie, Brett , and the lovely ladies (4)
Greg & Jenny (2)
Leo (1) maybe two if the lovely Charlotte joins us
Colleen and Brian

Thanks again everyone!

Our meet-up was held last night at Broadway at the Beach, at the small fountain in front of Tripps. Because Wally had a day off yesterday, we arrived not only on time, but a few minutes before 6! I think that's a first!

Emmy (Sun 'n Fun) her husband Paul, and her mother Emily were seated by the pool when we arrived. Emmy has such a sunny disposition, and she is so outgoing! You don't have to talk to her for longer than a few minutes to find out how excited she is to be back at the beach. Emmy's mother has owned their house near Longs since the mid-80s, and she is such a sweetheart. Although their homes are in NY, they manage to come to the beach as often as they can:

Sy, Emmy and Paul's son, arrived at the fountain a few minutes later. He had been shopping and showed us two books he purchased - one about cats and the other, named "Indian Sign Language." I don't know about you, but I never even learned American Sign Language, so I was very impressed with his interest. Here's Sy with his grandmother, Emily:

As we were waiting for the remainder of our group to arrive, who should we see but Ron and Donna (LAXmom.) They couldn't stay for dinner, but they knew we were meeting and just wanted to meet the members who were new to them and say hello to old friends. This reinforces the feeling of "family" that we always have at these gatherings, and I know we all appreciated them being there. Good news! Their house is almost completed!

Others arrived, and it soon became another "family reunion." Katie, Brett and the girls were not able to make this meetup, and we missed seeing them. But it's always a pleasure to see Leo and Charlotte, along with Colleen and Brian.

Our "new" couple, Greg (Sparkieg) and Jenny, are staying in Garden City this year as many of you know from his various posts. Since they usually stay in North Myrtle, this trip is giving them a new perspective of the beach as well as affording new opportunities for attractions and entertainment. As you can see from the picture below, they are very happy to be together, and we were all glad to welcome them to their first MBMB meet-up!

Dinner at Tripps was a lot of fun and we all enjoyed our meal. Even though we were seated at separate tables, we all managed to visit back and forth, much to the distress, I'm sure, of the wait staff. Emily and Leo have have a mutual admiration society. He loves to kid her and she loves to set him straight. For instance, during dinner, Leo's ears caught a snippet of music. He turned to Emily and asked for her thoughts about Coldplay. Here are Leo and Emily:

Here's the group after dinner, outside Tripps:

Once again, a wonderful meet-up with friends.

that's so great to meet someone you already feel like you know.

You all look so happy, but then again why not? You're at MB!

We are home~ Arrived last night after an uneventful 11 hour drive; thank God.

I want to preface this meet-up report with a big thank you. A thank you to Patrish for being who she is, running this board the amazing way she does, and for just being a friend. Patrish you are a gracious wonderful woman and I mean that sincerely...

Now on to the meet-up. It was a blast as usual...
Patrish and Wally are just great folks. My husband was across from Wally and really enjoyed speaking with him. They put you at ease immediately. Patrish was so warm and we all chatted as old friends. As we were leaving Wally gave me a hug and said what a nice time he had with a great big grin. I miss them already! http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k195/ ... 000156.jpg

I finally got to meet Charlotte; Leo's wife this time. I had wanted to meet her for so long and she was everything I thought she would be and more. She was charming and very personable; a real lady. She is this petite gal with an abundance of energy and life. I enjoyed my time immensely with her. Leo is like a dear friend at this point. He and my mom are planning on running away together soon with Charlottes permission I might add. My mom thinks the world of him as we all do. He makes her giggle like a schoolgirl and she loves it. It is amazingly sweet. It touches a daughters heart when someone blesses their mom and Leo my boy you bless her. Thank you.

Colleen was another I had really wanted to meet as well. She is the sweetest. She is even prettier in person than the pictures convey. I didn't get to spend as much time with her as I would have liked but I am so thankful she joined us. Brian her husband was just as nice though again I didn't get too much time with him. They seem like they adore Carolina and actually knew where the Big E restaurant was...

Greg and Jenny were wonderful. We got to chat with them after dinner outside and they were having such a great time in MB. Greg was as personable as I knew he would be and Jenny though I hadn't talked with her on the board before was a doll. She was very sweet and they were really perfect together. I was so happy they joined us!

Thank you everyone who came. It meant so much to my family and I that you all took time from your busy schedules to share a meal with us. You are all very special!

Katie and family you were missed terribly. Please know you were in our thoughts though!

Emmy, I forgot you took that picture!

We all had a great time at the meetup, even though we were seated at separate tables. Leo, Patrish, Wally, myself and Colleen bounced back and forth between the two tables and made a game out of it.

That pic you took of Brian and Leo is a little dark. I'm gonna see if I can enhance it a little and lighten it up for you.

Hi Emmy,
I'm so sorry I couldn't make it. I felt terrible! Work went crazy last week, and I couldn't pull myself away till about 8pm that night. I missed you!!!!
