Kim has been a regular on our board for over two years, and I have been waiting a long time to meet her! It's no surprise that she fits right in with so many other message board members who have become a part of my extended family!

Kim and Kevin live just over the state line of Ohio and West Virginia, in a small town near Marietta, Ohio. They brought their daughters, 10 year old Karleigh and their 5 year old twins, Kortnei and Kennedi. Please note that the spelling does not indicate my overindulgence with wine tonight....just a preference of Kim and Kevin to keep the "K" names in the family. Kim's brother Chad came along to say hello and join us in some great ice cream!

Once again we have a case of perfectly behaved children at our message board meet-ups. I had a few minutes to get acquainted with all three who were polite and more than willing to tell me all about their Myrtle Beach vacation - so far! Kim is easy to be around. She's friendly and straight-forward, showing many of the great personality traits I've seen in her posts on the board. It was such a pleasure to finally meet her.

I missed seeing Brett tonight, but he had to stay home and work on some problems caused by the power outage. Katie will fill you in! Since Kylie had not been feeling well, Katie and Noelle left her with Brett and took advantage of a Mother-Daughter night out. I was glad to see them, and it was especially fun to watch how much Noelle enjoyed feeding the ducks with "Wally's lunch." Well, it really wasn't Wally's ENTIRE lunch, of course. Just the bread which he doesn't need anyhow. I didn't think he noticed that I grabbed the remainder of the loaf as we left the house for the meet-up, but Wally doesn't miss much. As I explained to him, those baby ducks needed the bread more than he did.

Brian and Colleen were there. As soon as we saw them we started talking non-stop as if we hadn't seen each other in months. They are always a delight, and tonight we especially enjoyed Brian's stories about hanging pictures in their new house as he polished off one of those VERY SMALL cups of ice cream.

I only have two good pictures from tonight, but Katie had her camera, and hopefully she will have others to post.

Kim, thanks for scheduling this meet-up. It was a pleasure to meet you and your family at last! I hope you'll enjoy the rest of your vacation!

Only half of our little John family was represented last night. During the storm on Sunday night, our wireless router got fried in the power outage. Brett had to stay home last night and install a new one (I'm sure there was lots of muttering under his breath and maybe a stubbed toe or two... he never emerges from any task without some form of injury!) Since Kylie had been cranky all day, I left her home and took Noelle. Mommy and Noelle's night out! I promised her a visit to Mickey's house after the meetup (aka: The Disney Store).

We got to Broadway only to find zero parking anywhere. The place was jam packed. I think we ended up parking somewhere in southern Virginia and walking to the meetup. Patrish was standing outside Coldstone by herself when we got there. Wally had dropped her off, so she wouldn't have to walk from their parking spot in Virginia like the rest of us. What a gentleman!!

Kim and her family are awesome. It was great to finally get a chance to meet them. As much as I love the big giant meetups, I really enjoy the small meetups even more. It gives me a chance to focus on getting to know the people there instead of flitting around a large group of people like a butterfly on Speed.

Here is Kim, Kevin, Karleigh, and the twins, Kortnei and Kennedi...

Noelle was very excited to meet the 3 girls and lost interest in her ice cream as soon as all the sprinkles were eaten off the top (figures!).

They were happily impressing Noelle with their cartwheeling skills...

Noelle made a valiant attempt...

But she needed some help... (I haven't decided if this should be titled "Helping Noelle do a cartwheel" or "stealing Noelle's milk money." HA HA!!!)...

At one point I was double dared that I could not jump on one foot longer than them. I swear I won the dare, but it's just so hard to prove... they kept changing the rules on me! LOL! I ended up jumping on one foot, turning around in circles, and wondering what all the passerby vacationers must have been thinking of me. I'm sure there were some snickers... I'm not a very graceful individual. But I had fun. The Holbert girls are so sweet and full of life.

Brian and Colleen showed up last. Brian had worked up quite an appetite walking from their parking spot in Virginia! Colleen told him he wasn't allowed to get a big ice cream... just a small one... and she would have a small taste of his small ice cream. He waited patiently till she was deep in conversation with Kim and snuck into the ice cream shop unnoticed. A few minutes later, he came back out victorious...

I believe Colleen's response was something along the lines of, "What have you done?!" I don't know exactly... I was laughing too hard.

Anywhoo, Colleen did get her one small bite, and Brian enjoyed the rest...

In Brian's defense, it wasn't the largest size available. But I do like to give him a hard time anyway. :clown:

Kim and her family left after awhile to go ride the old Pavillion rides, so we bid them farewell. Noelle was not pleased that I let her friends leave. I got some evil sideways glares from her. But soon Patrish had her distracted with some bread to feed the ducks...

Wally said, "Hey, that looks like my bread!" Sure enough, Wally will be eating a "carb free" lunch today. LOL! I'm sure the ducks are very grateful.

Noelle finally decided it was time to go to Mickey's house, so we gave everyone a hug and took off. As we were elbowing our way through the crush of tourists, I wondered what the heck I was thinking promising her a trip to the Disney Store, which is at the completely opposite end of Broadway. Oh well. The things we do for our kids.

Kim and her family are planning to just sit on the beach all week. I'm getting more jealous by the minute as my phone is ringing off the hook and the emails keep pouring in from work. I hope they have a wonderful relaxing week (I wish it were me).

Once again great pictures. Thanks. Kim, I loved your husband's shirt. Where did you find that? I want one for somebody. You have a great looking family. Cathy
