Another fantastic meet-up was held this morning at K&W.

As Wally and I were about to enter the front door, a man got of of his car and began approaching us. Since I knew Rich and his wife Pat were coming, I assumed this was Rich, but it turned out to be one of our long-time local members from the "old" message board, Randy (username KLAMAC.) It was super meeting him at last!

We walked inside to find Pat and Rich waiting on the bench. Hugs all around! It was not long before Leo arrived. More hugs (I LOVE these meet-ups!) Leo left NH last night and drove all night in order to make this meeting.

Pat and Rich took some photos which I hope they will post later. In the meantime, here are a few that I took.

Pat and Rich, sorry this picture is over-exposed. The other one was better, but Leo didn't look so good in it. Must have to do with those plasma pancakes.)

Let me reiterate what has been said time and time again about meet-ups. They are like a family reunion, except you truly do like all the people.

Pat had a meeting right after breakfast with the Horry County school system to discuss job availability. She has taught all her adult life and is in the running for Teacher of the Year. (She'll know the results when they get back to NH tomorrow.) Both she and Rich are good conversationalists, and talking with them was like being with old friends.

Leo is Leo, and we wouldn't want him any other way. He's comfortable to be around, extremely witty, very intelligent, and a lot of fun. His persona comes across on the message board, and as the old adage says, what you see is what you get. Leo substantiates this.

Meeting Randy was a pleasant surprise. Although his photos are linked from the message board members' site, the only photo that isn't scenery is his lovely wife Salli. Randy is retired from Sprint and has been living in Myrtle Beach for 2.5 years. He's soft-spoken, courteous and gracious. This thoughtful Southern Gentleman is originally from TN. Randy, I hope you will join us at future meet-up! It was a real pleasure to meet you at last.

It's a good thing we all had other plans for the morning. Otherwise we'd still be talking around the breakfast table.
