Dear Friends,

Here's some basic information about Meet-Ups:

One way to schedule a meet-up is by using the PM (private message) feature on the board. We sometimes notice in the Trip Reports that members who acknowledge each other from this message board stayed the same hotel during the same week and didn't know it.

If several message board members are here at the same time (as happens a lot in the summer) it's a good idea to post when you will be here in this Meet-up forum.

For instance:
"I would like a meet-up. How about 6:30 PM at Cold Stone Creamery at The Market Common?"

This will get the ball rolling. If people want to come, but the date and time don't suit them, they need to post another suggestion until an agreement is reached. Don't worry about adding a long strings to the topic. The excess posts will be removed or edited by the Moderators or Administrators.

Remember that not everyone is interested in meeting other members. If you contact a member and don't receive a reply, don't take it personally. People who are here on vacation may be trying to avoid the meetings and schedules that they must contend with on a daily basis at home.

Five ways to get started:
(1) Check the Vacation Calendar at Famundo.com!
Enter your information so others will know when you're in MB. Go to this URL:
http://famundo.com
Type in your username: all lower case, one word as shown below:
mbmessageboard
Type in your password: lowercase, one word as shown below:
my_vacation

(2) Read posts under the "When Will You Be Here" forum to find dates that correspond with yours. Send these people a PM.

(3) Post in the meet-up section and ask.

(4) Send some PMs to locals you would like to meet. Settle on a date and time, then post it publicly in the Meet-up forum.

I don't schedule meetings, but I love to meet our message board members, and I will try my best to attend all that I can.
