Mama Rue's is a Jamaican restaurant in Pawley's Island. Everything is made from scratch, including the seasonings for the jerked/smoked meats. We had the Island Dumplings (pork steamed potstickers), jerk chicken and pork, and the Catch of the Day (it was grouper) in Butter Sauce, and everything was to die for! The chef and Mama are very personable, and we talked for quite a while. There is also a special drink - the Howlin' Wolf - that is super. They have live blues one or two nights a week.
