Last two years we ate at margaritas, but want to try a different Mexican restaurant. I was just wondering if anyone has any recent reviews or recommendations on a restaurant that they enjoy...

We like both suggestions above.. Both are local and have made a name for themselves. Burro Loco has good Happy Hour prices:

Abuelos also has some good Happy Hour prices:

Yes, I know....it's a chain...but I like it for dinner anyhow!

Hummmm....wonder why I'm talkin' about Happy Hour.....it's only 8:09 AM! :drinkin:

We LOVE Burro Loco! It's on our must visit list every year! Mmm a margarita would go great about now -- it's SC type weather, hot and humid, up here in MI today! :beerchug:

I really liked El Cerro Grande! Not sure if they are around anymore, but the food was awesome!

I agree with all the above with the exception to El Cero, which the last couple times I went it was like Italian sauce on supposedly Mex food.

If you want really good food without the high prices and expensive surroundings, try El Patio out on 501 near the college, it is my favorite.

Habernero's out in Pawleys is also good and not overpriced.

Last time I went to El Cerro was in 2008 .. guess it has gone downhill since then.

Many years ago El Cero was also high on my list, use to go to the one south of the Pavilian on 17 biz, I think they expanded to fast or too much and could not keep up with the quality and the way the food was to be prepped and cooked, just making an educated guess here.

I gave the one in Garden City 2 chances 3 years ago, and said never again.

My absolute favorite is Abuelos...with Fiesta Del Burro Loco as a close second.

We have been going for years and years and usually go to both of these the week that we're in Myrtle Beach.

Enjoy!!! :hello:

We went to Abuelo's for the first time last year! It was amazing. Honestly, I completely forgot about it until just now. It's a very nice atmosphere inside. Very fancy.
