Taco Mundo | 4732 Hwy 17 S, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582 | https://www.tacomundocantina.com

We ate here on a Sunday a little before 6pm. We asked the woman and man at the host stand for a table. He said it would be about a 5-7 wait even though there were numerous empty 4 tops in the area that we could see. He offered a booth or for us to sit outside. We declined and said we wouldn’t mind waiting for a table. He seemed upset we declined a booth. He walked away for a minute and came back and offered a booth for a second time. Again, we declined. He took us to a table around the corner from the entrance. There were 7-8 empty tables in our section, and two tables in our section that had 8-10 people. I don’t know what the issue was about sitting there. Our server was polite and upbeat. She always checked in on us and we always had refills. Overall, we would return. Hopefully they’ll add a bit more meat to their tacos the next time we dine here. The service was great.

Chips and salsa. The salsa had a bit of a kick. The chips were pretty good. They were thick and had salt on them.

Mexican coke. It’s made with cane sugar instead of high-fructose corn sugar. It was really good. It was my first time having one and I’m glad I tried it.

El Lobster taco (tempura lobster, pineapple salas, cilantro, ancho chili yogurt sauce), Taco Americano taco (seasoned ground beef, romaine, tomato, shredded monterrey jack cheese, creama), rice and beans. My dad enjoyed the tacos, but wished there was more ground beef and lobster. There were more toppings than filling. He thought the rice and beans were tasty.

Grilled chicken quesadilla (monterey jack cheese, lettuce) guacamole, pico de gallo, creama. My mom’s quesadilla had a decent amount of chicken. You could tell the guacamole was homemade and her toppings were fresh.

Fried chicken rice bowl (fried chicken breast, red cabbage, chipotle bbq sauce, cilantro, scallions, crispy tortillas strips). Our server warned me it was on the spicy side, which was fine with me. She was right! It had quite the kick. I liked the rice a| nd the chicken was good. The toppings were plentiful and fresh.

Taco Mundo looks like another great restaurant find in NMB... Living on the south end of Myrtle Beach, we do not end up in the NMB are for meals, unless we are up that way for some reason... Myrtle Beach is so blessed to have an abundance of great restaurants all up and down the strand. So glad you enjoy your visits the the area with your parents. Thanks again for the great reviews.

Thank you! As always...photos are great. We have so many taco restaurants here in MB I'm always wondering how they all stay in business....but they seem to do just that! (Same with pizza restaurants!) Nacho Hippo is so close to us we'll usually end up there. It's a convenience thing. That business about the booth or table seems weird, but glad it worked out, and you enjoyed the experience! That chicken rice bowl makes me hungry! Thanks again!
