From the Sea Captain's 9/25 Facebook page:

Did you know: Hushpuppies were originally extra dough fried and tossed to dogs to keep them quiet. Hence the name. (Glad someone decided to put them on the table!)

and the Sea Captains has some pretty darn good pups !

Since the topic is random thoughts.....here's one.....

I have a love/hate relationship with Facebook. I love the photos that my friends share, and it's a great way to keep up with the relatives, far away friends, and people I used to go to school or work with. But other times I yearn for a "don't like" button.

One of my friends sent me this link yesterday, and the article sums up many of my thoughts. They even hit on one of my favorite peeves....people who leave a one line post that says something like "The most terrible thing happened to me" or "Guess why I am in the hospital!" or "Aunt Tilly won't be at work tomorrow." For Pete's sake...either tell us what is happening or save it until you have the whole story.

Amen.

There's always been a push for a dislike button or a thumbs down icon. Many times I've wanted to do that. I over look the few things that bother me and enjoy the ability to keep up to date with friends and family. My biggest peeve was the game requests. Then I learned how to block the games in the game centre. Every now and then there's a new game. I take a few seconds to block it and will never see it again. Every now and then I evaluate my friends and the odd one gets cut. That also cuts down on the crap that plugs up my wall.

I have a love/hate relationship with Facebook as well. I guess I am not alone with that feeling. However, it is a useful place to share pictures, which I do ... a lot. :tongue3:

My friend and I were JUST talking about the FB thing... my 3 biggest pet peeves: game requests or the like, the passive-aggresive updates (like Patrish stated) and the CONSTANT COMPLAINERS... I pretty much use FB for the pictures etc like many. My family (parents and all) and some really good friends live far away so it's the easiest way to keep in contact consistently.

Buuuuut, there are so many times I roll my eyes and want to DISLIKE!

Got to watch some of the links that get passed around on Facebook. Two of them recently, an article about the hpv vaccine and Colorado pot use after legalizing causing something like two hundred deaths the first day were total lies. :pimp: I can't believe everything on the internet isn't true. Its funny to see some of the facebook friends getting all out of whack over totally made up stuff.
