Eagle Cam !

Quote:
Berry College in Georgia had two bald eagles create a nest on their campus in 2013. Eagle nests are huge – much larger than your regular robin’s nest. They can be bigger than 15 feet across and weigh as much as three tons. Berry College did one of the coolest things ever and set up an eagle cam

Random thought... If ghosts can walk through walls and glide down stairs, why don't they fall through the floor?

The Honor Flight of Myrtle Beach landed for the last time Wednesday bringing home World War II and Korean War veterans speechless and exhausted after a day sightseeing in Washington, D.C.

We were at the WWII Memorial in DC last Saturday when a group of Honor Flight vets came through. One person started to applaud, then another and soon a thousand+ people clapping. Very moving....

For Scott:

For Kirk:
That is touching. When something like that happens, it strengthens my belief in our country.

For anyone who will be here May 14-18 - The traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall will visit Myrtle Beach, near Crabtree Memorial Gymnasium at The Market Common, and will be available 24 hours a day during its visit.

Ok... for anyone who needs to shed a few tears. Our daughter Kelly did an internship at Make-A-Wish last summer and of course the stories are simultaneously heartbreaking yet uplifting. This one is pretty incredible....

Many doctors/therapists say a major tool in fighting cancer is attitude. Live with an attitude of victory and your chances increase dramatically. Here is the story of Addy who was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer at 4 years old. Her Wish was to be a pop star for a day, yet she is so much more. She beat cancer and Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic made her Wish come true.

Addy's song choice showed her attitude:

I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire
‘Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me ROAR

May is a great month to be in Annapolis, MD. The weather is typically great (but not as great as Myrtle Beach  ), and the Naval Academy graduation activities are in full swing. The biggest celebration is the air show by the Blue Angels directly over the campus and city waterfront.

For anyone who has seen the Navy Blue Angels or Air Force Thunderbirds, it's an incredible show.... an ex-Navy friend tracked down some cockpit footage of the Blue Angels as they performed over Annapolis a few years back. Amazing raw video showing the incredible skill of these pilots:

Enjoy !

KirkG,

I am employed in field subscribed to streaming "hits". I have been unable to make out words to eye of the tiger song mentioned in your post. Thanks to your post, I learned two more lines. Now, each time I hear that song, I am able to make a human connection. Makes a difference to me & hope, my prayers for the young survivor each day, makes a positive difference for her.

Thank you, Kirk, for sharing the old photos. I enjoyed going through them with my morning coffe. It was like watching a Ken Burns documentary, one of my favourite things to do.

Growing up in Massachusetts, I was exposed to the "Kennedy mystique" of Camelot on a daily basis....

Some neat pictures of JFK frolicking around the water:

Loving the beach:

Great pictures. I loved the Life magazine cover.
