My random thought of today. A stick shift these days is prolly your best anti theft system.

Ha, love it as I will never buy an automatic for myself. Hate driving an automatic. They do the strangest things at the worst times (not shifting when it needs to, surging when shifting when you don't want it to....) It's more difficult to drive an auto than it is a manual because of it doing the opposite that you want automatically.

Random thought for today....

There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.

Hope everyone is enjoying the big warm-up. It was 29° today! A nice 30° rise from what Tuesday was. Feels like I should be opening up the pool, LOL. I left the heavy coat off leaving work and just wore my flannel shirt for the ride home.

OK, another random thought.

Why is it that seemingly every time I go in a grocery store, the person behind the cash register hits me up for donations to some charity? WE DO donations, and in addition to the annual donations, we contribute to the Red Cross when disasters strike.

I usually end up giving a dollar for the charity du jour because it makes me feel guilty to say no. But I'm in a GROCERY store, for Pete sake. Grocery stores don't let the homeless loiter on their property asking for donations, yet grocery clerks are doing practically the same thing. It used to not bother me when it wasn't so prevalent, but these days I can go to 3 different grocery stores in one day, and and each sponsoring a different charity!

And another random thought...

Why do people who design the outside of shampoo and conditioner bottles make them look exactly the same....except for the very tiny words SHAMPOO and CONDITIONER. When I'm in the shower I can't read that little print. I've even washed my hair with conditioner, wondering why it wasn't foamy. I finally drew a red circle on the shampoo bottle.

Patricia,
I am totally with you on that! It annoys the heck out of me as well. Usually my response is "I give my time to charity organizations". And then I smile...
Lately, a girl I see often at Food Lion and whom I like whispered to me "I am so sorry, but they make me do that." The poor girl behind the cashier has no choice.

I spit on my keyboard for this one :hysterical:

Paul came out of the shower the other day and here is our conversation...

Me "Babe, did you wash your hair? It looks a bit greasy and flat."

Paul "Yup, twice. That shampoo you buy for your curly hair is plain crap. it doesn't get my hair clean. I washed it twice even. It doesn't lather, makes my hair greasy, and even after I've rinsed it like 6 times it still feels like I didn't get it all out!"

Me "Hmmm, that's funny. Works great for me."

Paul "Yes, that's because you have curly hair and all the oil in the shampoo keeps you from frizzing."

Me "Whatever."

Now, a light bulb goes off in my mind and I ask him to show me which bottle he used. Yup, the super duper hydrating CONDITIONER for curly hair. I think we may have to do the red circle tip Patrish  .

I just say no, without an explanation. I
Really don't consider it their business when or where I give. I agree! It's irritating.

Try the Infusium line... shampoo is white, conditioner grey. Of course I still get them mixed up :BandHead:

Fortunately the area affected is extremely small (and getting smaller every year......)

A friend and I use the same barber.... he has a full-head of thick hair and takes about 30 mins for a cut... mine could be over in 10. I ask why we get charged the same ?!?

He gets charged for a haircut.... mine is more a "finders fee" :tongue3:

And... I prefer a manual transmission myself, but driving in Washington DC bumper-to-bumper traffic pushed me to automatics long ago. :???:

Geez... painful flashbacks of my Digital Logic course are whizzing by.... we actually did long multiplication and division of binary figures. OUCH ! That was one "skill" quickly purged from my memory banks....

Funny, my son bought another car and it's standard. A friend of his is going to get it road worthy, then I get to teach him how to drive it. Until he learns, I get a second car

Facebook again:

Is anyone else tired as I am of seeing Dr. Oz (and other celebrities) on Facebook promoting what is proven to be spam?

In my search to see if I can get rid of it (jury is still out) I came across this site. A real time-sucker, but a lot of good information.

http://facecrooks.com/

And if you don't play games and you want to stop invitations:
When you receive a notification, you can now click on the X in the top right hand corner and "turn off" notifications for that app as well.

You're welcome. :clown:

My thought of the day:

Facebook is just becoming everyone's place to "share" news articles, or post funny pictures or thier 29 favorite recipes from Pinterest. Call me old fashioned, but I kind of miss when my timeline was just posts from people. No one posts anything anymore. It's just political articles, and junk I don't care about. If I wanted to see the news, i'd read the news!

Grrrrr.

I really think I need a break from facebook!
