 Hanging my head in shame here. I strayed last week and went to Virginia Beach instead of my favorite Myrtle Beach... OMG, Va Beach closes up after Labor Day. There were no excursions, breakfast at some morning restaurants opened at 8 instead of 6, a lot of stores and restaurants were already closed. It was sooooooooooo boring!!!!!
Never ever again!!!! I've learned my lesson and will not do that again. :BandHead: I sure did miss Myrtle...

LOL! You are forgiven!

There were several times in the past when I was living in Roanoke and vacationed in Va Beach. It enforced my belief that Myrtle Beach was the place I really wanted to be. (I have never regretted moving here!)

I live 3 1/2 hours from VA Beach and I drive 8 hrs. to get to Myrtle. Now that just about says it all. People that have never been to Myrtle tell me we're crazy, but hey, they've never been here so how can they say we're crazy. We are crazy, crazy in love with Myrtle Beach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wav:

I agree completely. Guess I had to learn the hard way. Also, prices after Labor Day at Myrtle are ridiculously lower than at Virginia Beach. I couldn't believe the difference in pricing. VA Beach doesn't lower their prices hardly a bit after Labor Day!

I've lived in both cities and IMHO Myrtle Beach > VA Beach. I did like VAB, but MB wins for me.

We lived in VA. Beach for 12 years, and come vacation time, it was always Myrtle Beach for us. I also grew up in Roanoke. I thought it was a law there that you must vacation in MB. That's what my dad taught me.

I'm always nervous to try some place else! It kind of reminds me of the old saying "don't fix what isn't broken" haha don't worry, people think we are crazy too - travel across the country to MB, with no direct flights! We love it though.

On top of M.B. being the best, do a comparrison. In mid july,it's way cheaper to drive from Va. to M.b., stay in a hotel for a week, eat most/all meals out (Or room delivery) than it is to go to Va. beach for 4-5 days. Really, it is!!!!!! It's worth the 6 - 7 hour trip for us. Besides, when we GO to M.b., we don't use that much gas. After all, if you look at a map, it's DOWNHILL all the way!!!!! LOL :hysterical:
