The whole problem with all that is, drain it to clean it? Now that I bought a pool last year (instead of Myrtle Beach trip) and extensively researched and learned how to keep a pool clean and sanitized, draining it would be the biggest waste of time to clean it.

Not true. At some point, the water simply cannot be "chemical'd" any more and needs replaced. Your pool has what... maybe 4 or 5 different people that use it? A public pool can have 100's if not 1000's of different users. Each with a different Alkaline and PH make-up in their skin. Water is affected by that, and at some point it can no longer be adjusted by chemicals and simply must be replaced. If you've only had your pool for a year, you'll see over time that even with only a few users, you'll eventually have to replace the water. It's a matter of chemistry.

So what you're all saying is that you agree with my original statement and that none of you let your kids run wild through the lazy river. Sweet. 10 down. 345,000,000 to go!!

Well, I guess I'm an old grouch, then, because I have no problem saying anything. A bunch of kids were running/splashing in the lazy river at SeaWatch and I told them that wasn't allowed. They needed to be on floats or get out. They were clueless that they were doing anything wrong. Kids don't read signs on vacation and parents don't often keep them in line on vacation. I guess I'm the vacation police.
