Anyone ever been to this place? I stumbled across an add for the Loco Gecko in the MB Vacation Guide, and it really looks like a fun place. I think it is oceanfront, and they advertise live music in-season. http://www.locogecko.com/

I've never been, but the food looks good on their Facebook page. It's located at the Captain’s Quarters Resort. From the facebook page, it doesn't seem like it is "on the beach". You might see a sliver of the ocean from a couple tables, but it looks like it is located behind the resort.

That's a new one to me, and I'll have to check it out! Thanks for posting, Scott!

In the Photo Gallery there's a picture that looks like the ocean behind a table. The copy says "Great views of the Atlantic - Restaurant" so I'll bet you're right, Melissa!

If someone reminds me I'll let y'all what it's like, we are having a MB Chamber get together there on the 25th from 4-6:30.

We went to the Loco Gecko last October. I mentioned the restaurant in my trip report but never got around to doing a review. Bottom line, is we liked it and are looking forward to going back this fall. I guess you could describe it as a "poor man's margaritaville". You are correct Melissa, it is not oceanfront. From a few of the side tables you have an oceanview. Our server was very good, food was moderatedly priced and well prepared and the beer was cold. What more could you ask for?? We were there on a very slow weeknight in October. Probably only 5 or 6 tables occupied in the whole place. I had the All Aboard sampler plate and it was very good. Wings were delicious and the fried corn on the cob was a real treat. It also include pork dumplings and fried pickles. My husband had a hamburger and he said it was very good..
If you go to their website you can download a coupon for free chips and salaa (Monday thru Thursday only). If you like the beach bar atmosphere I would suggest trying Loco Gecko. You need to stop in just to see the decor.

Way to go, Ron! Thanks for taking the time to track down that photo. Looks like it would be pretty hard to have an ocean view...unless you were at the top.

805 s ocean blvd at the captains quarters resort

It seems as though they have a thing for Rocky Mountain Oysters. Can't say that I've ever had them nor do I have the desire to try.
