We are staying in North Myrtle Beach this year and I was wondering about the mini-golf up there. I know we will go to our old favs like Mt. Atlanticus and Captain Hook's. I would like to try a new course this year and would like to know which is the best course in North Myrtle Beach. Which is your favorite and why?

Jeff,

My 18 year old loves Mayday (remember the bug spray...the course is surrounded by tropical lush) and we always go to the Hawaiian Rumble even though it has went down over the past several years. I will ask Ryan his picks since he is the putt putt king of our group and get back to you.

Professor Hackers and Molten Mountain might be some choices for you.

Last year, we took the kids (and ourselves) to Molten Mountain. My 5 year old absolutely loved it. They have a volcano that errupts and is very cool at night.

My daughter especially likes Lost Treasure because you ride a train up to the first tee. A little added excitement for the young ones (and young at heart).

They just opened a new one last year that has an indoor course and an outdoor course a few blocks before Hawaiian Rumble and after Barefoot driving North...we like Mayday too, and the train one is great!

Of all the ones I listed, I think we enjoyed Mutiny Bay the most last year. It was fun, with waterfalls, etc. But it wasnt' the most-challenging course we've played. They have two courses, and the other one may be more challenging.

So, why did we enjoy it so much? My (then) 13 year-old son beat me for the first time in his life in miniature golf at Mutiny Bay. My daughter (7 at the time) did very, very well on this course, so that makes it more fun.

The people working there were very nice, and we just really enjoyed it. It wasn't ridiculously crowded like Mayday.
