Want to take my elderly father mini-golfing, but he doesn't do well with stairs. Any recommendations ?

Thanks in advance !

Jurassic Golf near the airport on Business 17 is fairly flat. That would be my best recommendation.

I seem to remember that Dragon's Lair at BATB had more ramps than stairs.

I know some places seem downright treacherous, with uneven rocks for steps and a lack of sturdy hand rails.

I haven't played Hawaiian Rumble for years (NMB) but I believe that was rather flat. And it's famous for being in a movie.

Most of the newer courses with at least 2 18-hole courses on them, have one "ADA"-approved course which is fairly flat and doesn't have any terrain features which would trouble someone with disabilities.

Unfortunately, this new law, as nice as it is to accomodate people with disabilities, is being used as a way to kill off all the old, challenging courses.

Now that I think about it, I believe Mt. Atlanticus has an elevator. The front course, near the road, is fairly level, but you have to end up at the top on that course too, I think. But I'm pretty sure I remember seeing an elevator. I'd recommend calling them ahead of time to check, though.

In an early post, we discussed Molten Mountain, and I said that I felt it was "flat" and not challenging. Tim Marks responded to my post with some great information. I'm re-posting it now because I think it is relevant to your question.

-----------------------
4/17/2007
Molten Mountain Golf was designed by Marks Const. Co of SC Inc

The Outdoor course was set up based on 2008-09 ADA laws that will greatly affect many mini golf courses nationwide. The days of the great big mountains and hills with big turns and twists are coming to an end. I love them too! Government is dictating change in the entertainment industry that will put a lot of MB mini golf out of business because they do not have a handicap accesible course and are unable to modify them because of space. Today's mini golf is more about bells and whistles than the golf itself. The motto "Travel to another place in time" is the way designers think with new courses. I am truly sorry that the "two visiting familys to MM had a less than spectacular time ( The indoor course at MM is the tougher of the two and I assume all who thought it was easy shot below par!! LOL) but was glad to see you liked our other courses Mutiny Bay and Cancun Lagoon which are a part of the Molten Mountain(Paradise Entertainment Inc) family. We strive to build courses that will catch the eye and take you to Mexico, a carribbean island or to a polynesian island with a volcano all while on your visit to MB.
We have a new package this summer for mini golf lovers called the Hopper Pass which lets you play at all 3 locations for $16.00!!! 99 holes of golf! This must be done in the same day between 9am and 8pm, but if golf is your thing this is for you!
We make our living by bringing fun and smiles to families and
thank all of our visitors because without you we would not be here!

PS. All NMB courses this year are $8.00 per round per person so for an Indoor Air conditioned option when it is hot, wet, or cold This is a very good value.

Courses Marks Const has designed and built:
TRIBAL ISLAND
MAYDAY GOLF
MOLTEN MOUNTAIN (PEI owned and operated)
MUTINY BAY (PEI owned and operated)
HAWAIIAN RUMBLE
SUTTERS MILL
GHOSTLY GOLF
GOLF AT NASCAR SPEEDPARK
CANCUN LAGOON (PEI owned and operated)
BUCANNEER BAY

Tribal Island

Chasers http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109403

It's also used for - and televised from - the official mini-golf national championships.
