We are leaving for Myrtle Beach in just 5 hours. 3am. Cannot wait to be at my "happy place". We will be down for the week. Staying at anew place this time to save some bucks. We are coming from the Balt./DC area, so it will take about 8 hours+ to get there. 1st stop River City in Surfside for lunch. Oh yea.

Michael

Enjoy your trip. River City in Surfside is a great place to start a trip. Nothing like sitting out on the balcony looking out at the pier and the waves. It has become an annual tradition for us to go there first.

River City was pretty packed. We ended up at the Landmark on the Boardwalk. It was nice as well. We got rained on a bit. But that was OK. A long walk on the beach tonight capped a great first day. We are staying at the Roxanne for the first time. Anyone else ever stayed here?

So glad you have arrived safely. We are supposed to have warm weather until Friday when the temps start a downhill climb. Enjoy yourselves and keep in touch! :sunny:

Finally went to see Star Wars Monday Afternoon at the Mall. Great movie. Then it was time for dinner. We went to Driftwoods. Thanks to everyone's recommendations for that. With the Monday night special, we got 2 great seafood dinners and salads for less than $30.

Tuesday Afternoon we drove around and looked at new houses in the area. Then off to Market Command for a stroll and one of my favorites, Nacho Hippos. We will probably go back there again before we leave.

I'm glad we finally went to Market Commons for the first time last year after all these years it was opened.

Driftwood is one of our favorites. My parents just returned from Florida and ate a seafood place down there and commented on how they much rather would of had Driftwoods. It has become our favorite seafood place at the beach. The only problem is that the wait gets longer and longer each year.
