Tuesday

Today there was a pretty strong wind coming in, churning up some larger waves. Another cloudy day, but we took a short walk mid morning at high tide. I grabbed my sand sifter, but only found a few very small sharks teeth :BandHead:

We fixed breakfast in and later my sister and I made a trip up to Tangers on 17 for another stop at the Bare Escentuals Outlet store so I could have my makeup done. :love1: That was a nice experience. Susie was the woman who did mine, and she was so fun to talk with.

We both left there with bags in tow and looking marvelous! After a couple more stops we decided it was time for an iced coffee beverage, so we headed back up north toward the condo and Starbucks. Iced drinks in hand, we chose to drink them there and chill for a bit.

The guys had gone out to Direct Tools and actually made it back to the condo before we did. Once again, it will be a challenge to pack the car when we leave on Saturday because they did not come back empty handed! :clown

We had dinner at Margaritaville. Carla and Marc had never been there so we asked for good seats to view the hurricane show. We ordered Volcano Nachos which has become our tradition. Love those things!

We toured Carla and Marc around BATB after dinner. There were not many people there and some shops appeared to be closed already. The carp frenzy freaked us out a bit. As if the fish weren't bad enough, watching the ducks walk all over them to get the food was really weird!

After we got back to the condo we went down to the pools, lazy river and hot tub for a bit. A nice end to a fun day. We hope to get on the beach again tomorrow, after a looong workout on the treadmill in the morning!

Wednesday -

Not much exciting to report today. It started out raining this morning  We went to Harry's for a late breakfast and then took a drive down to Murrell's Inlet.

The skies have cleared though late this afternoon, so despite the weather predictions, it's a pretty nice day. My BIL really wanted to go on a fishing trip, so we are booked tomorrow morning with Voyager Fishing Charters. We set sail at 8:00 am from 13th Ave N, in NMB. This will be a 4 hour trip. Oh, what to wear??? :pirat: I have no idea what to expect as this will be the first time out on the ocean. Hopefully, no one gets sick! :ohnoes:

Dinner plans are for Duffy Street on Main so we don't have to drive out again. We have all been pretty content to just relax and watch the waves (when not at the outlets), so the daily reports are getting shorter, and shorter.

Thursday -

The weather did not look like it was going to be the best this morning, but once again, it turned out to be a perfect day! We had reservations for a 3-1/2 hour fishing trip this morning (versus the 3 hour tour)

We had a great time and will do that again! Here is my review:
http://www.funbeaches.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=13790&p=94412#p94412

We were famished after the fishing trip and were not really dressed for dinner, so we stopped back at the condo, then walked down to Hot Diggity Dinner for something quick. Here is my review:
http://www.funbeaches.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=13791

Back to the condo to change and hit the beach! My sister, Carla and I set up our chairs at the waters edge, actually a bit too close. As soon as I sat down a big wave took me out, so we moved back a couple of inches  Oh, so relaxing.....

After I moved back to the umbrella camp with Mike, we both dozed off for a bit. Sleeping on the beach... this is vacation!

We packed it in around 5:00, showered, and then tried to decide if we were hungry or not. We decided on appetizers at Buffalo Wild Wings.

I thought I would try to get some reading done when we got back, but could not keep my eyes open. Lights out for me around 9:15, and I don't think the others were very far behind.

Last day in paradise - we fixed breakfast sandwiches to clean up some of the fridge contents and then went to the beach. We lounged around, soaking up the glorious sunshine. :sunny: The weather has been good to us this last two weeks, even though we thought rain would be an issue this last week, it really was nice.

Early afternoon, Mike and I needed to make one more trip to Tangers (I need to stay away from that place!) and then we had plans for early dinner at California Dreaming with Carla & Marc.

Here is the link to the review on dinner:
http://www.funbeaches.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=11940

After dinner, we made one last stop at Starbucks in NMB, and savored the moments at a table outside. There were a lot of Harley's cruising by, which we enjoyed watching. We could not put off packing any longer, so we went back to the condo to finish up and called it a night.

Saturday - We were out the door by 8:00 a.m. and made our traditional stop at Krispy Kreme for road trip food  If you read Alan's trip report, you already heard about the terrible detour on 52 North. We lost at least 45 minutes to an hour in that mess as well. NCDOT definately needs to put some money into detour signs! :smash[1]:

As we traveled down I-270 on the west side of Columbus, we were able to see the new meca that is Hollywood Casino which is to open on Oct. 8th. I would hate to pay their electric bill!

We arrived home just as the OSU vs Nebraska game started :nanner: It is good to be home, but we are already talking about the next trip :sunny:

Thanks to all for tagging along!

Enjoyed tagging along on your trip! It sounds like such a relaxing time. Being in SE Ohio...I had forgotten about the casino being built...thanks for sharing your trip!

I have enjoyed reading your trip report. They will now start to be few and far between so thanks for sharing. We have stayed at the Ashworth in the past and love how handy it is to the Main Street. It is a very nice part of North Myrtle Beach. Glad you had a good vacation.
