those margaritaville burgers are NOT worth the price... Litchfield fish house where I wanted to go for our anniversary was closed. We called them in Jan to see if they were going to be open, and they said yes, so we were coming down for our birthdays.Luckily we called again before coming down from ohio, but who would have thought they'd be closed now?? We ended up at Cagneys. Big mistake! It took an hour to get our main dish, which I didn't eat. I didn't care for it. it wasn't as good as the last time we were there a year ago.so,anyway, today is a new day, its still our anniversary week,so maybe things will get better. Except, its raining.

I'm glad you're in MB...and so very sorry your meals haven't been big hits! Happy anniversary!

I'd love to hear what you think of the hotel and maybe a few pictures if you get the chance. Thats one I'm looking at for the next trip.

Hope your week gets better!

it really is a nice place. Its huge, the even floors with balconys have cement rails, but the odd floors have iron rails you can see thru when you sit out on the balcony. There's nothing worse then NOT being able to see when you're out on the balcony. If you get a room with balcony, you might want to consider that.

That is good to know about the odd/even floors and balconies! Thank you for sharing that! I'd hate to get stuck with no view!

our luck has finally changed. We went to the mall yesterday, and to Dirty dicks crabhouse for dinner.I'm not fond of that name & this was our first visit. Had the most delightful young man as a server, & his name was Kevin. He had a knack with conversation, and seemed to be able to pick up on personalities also. He knew what we would or wouldn't like just after talking with us. (Love that kid) We chose the grilled grouper, which came with rice pilaf, some kind of cajun bean dish, hush puppies, & ordered cheesy grits on the side.He said it was enough that we would be able to share one order, and he was right. We had leftover everything, except grouper. It was wonderful! Great food, great server, great place to go.I think I'll call Dirty dicks today and ask for the manager so I can praise both our server, and the great food! We are going to ultimate california pizza for lunch today, and to "the flying fish" for dinner. Never been to either of them.

Lou, sorry you got off to a rough start with restaurants. But thanks for taking the time to post your experiences for us!

"...those margaritaville burgers are NOT worth the price...."
I find this true of all the "entertainment" restaurants, such as Margaritaville, Planet Hollywood, Hard Rock. etc. I had a good salad once at Margartaville, but overall the food is just okay.

Sorry Litchfield Fish House was closed. It always pays to check first, I can't tell you how many times we've gone to a restaurant, only find it closed on that particular day, or worse, out of business. I need to take my own advice and call first. LOL!

>..."We went to the mall yesterday, and to Dirty dicks seafood for dinner..."
OK...I get all these "Dirtys" mixed up. (Dirty Don's, Dirty Dan's, Dirty Dick's...) But are you talking about THIS Dirty Dick's? Which mall? Barefoot Landing? I can't place it in my mind, even with the directions. (But I'm really directions impaired.)

Anyhow, glad you enjoyed your meal there! Hope things are on the upswing for you in regard to places to eat. I'm enjoying following you around!

it was dirty dicks crabhouse. I didn't get the name right, but I went back and edited it and put it in correctly. Its 1101 hwy 17 N. in N. Myrtle Beach.

went to ultimate california pizza at Barefoot landing for lunch. Had the pizza that has portabello mushrooms in the ingredients. It's name was 3 initials, the first one was a "u", but can't remember what the other two are. It was a very good pizza. Went around to some outlets trying to find a good pair of tennis shoes for me. I already have foot problems, but I have a huge blister on the bottom of one of my toes. It doesn't really hurt... yet. Went to Flying fish market at Barefoot landing for dinner. Got Swordfish and Mahi-mahi. Both were out of this world good, and very pleasant taste. Not one of the strong fish. Never had Swordfish before. We both still like Mahi-mahi the best of all. Had a bowl of clam chowder, & a salad, and chose sweet potato fries for me, and a Cheesy smashed potato for Bob. That smashed potato was delicious, as was the clam chowder. There was also a huge pile of greenbeans on each plate. Way to much food! Left most of the sides. Price was what you'd expect to pay for fresh fish.. 20 something dollars per order. We should have shared. we tell ourselves that every day so why don't we listen to our selves? The fish was 8 oz. which would have been easy for us to share. we plan on going to "Goodfellas Seafood Hut today on Hwy 17 someplace if we can find it. The number is 4505. We've tried to spot it when we go thru the area where we think it is, but may need to ask where it is as we aren't seeing it.
Our favorite so far tho is "Dirty Dicks crabhouse".

this was our first time there, and they certainly do have a really great selection.. Plus, you can build your own, and they say they deliver also.
