This morning Phyllis, Eddie, and I went down to the boardwalk to check it out. Wow, it really cleaned up the down town area. Eddie checked out one of the arcades, they are so big compared to any we have back home. And it's nice that you use real money instead of tokens. He actually won a nice beaded bracelet and a 2 dollar bill on one of the games.
We then walked down to the Sky Wheel and took a ride. Although I think it's a tad pricey, I felt it was worth it after we rode on it. If you want a cooler view, you'll have to take a helicopter :nanner: . Eddie wanted to go on the sling shot, but he changed his mind when he realized it flung you higher than the Sky Wheel. He opted for the Shooting Star, which was more than enough of a thrill for a 9 year old.
We wasted enough time that we wanted lunch. Landshark Grill is a nice place and we were happy with the meal and service. Eddie had the spinach and artichoke dip, Phyllis had a salad with chicken, and I had a dozen grilled oysters w/side salad. Why does it always seem like we're eating  .
Back to the condo for pool time and some rest. Tonight we went to Margaritaville for dinner. Really no wait to get in, but food wasn't very good. Mine was good and so was Tim's, but no one ate their quesadillas, Eddie's steak was way,way over cooked, Phyllis' salad was just okay. We did enjoy all of the entertainment though, but I'm not so sure I'll go back. One other thing, so far the bloody mary's I've had have been good, but nothing special. Seems that everyone uses the same mix. Looks like I'll have to keep searching for the one that soars above the rest :beerchug:
Kids wanted Old Tyme pictures taken, so that was our next stop. Pictures turned out amazing. I found it odd that the guy was downloading and printing all of Eddie's pictures and putting them in a folder. Maybe they use them for advertising??!
Coldstone Creamery for dessert :nanner: , but they would not accept Cheri's Restaurant.com certificate. They said it could only be used in Wilmington. After walking around BATB for a while, we decided to come back here to crash. Stopped along the way to win a stuffed animal at the water shooting game.
Now I'm sitting here alone, because everyone else headed to the pool area to watch Gnomeo and Julliet :???: .
BTW, did I mention that Grandma washed Eddie's cell phone. I'll have to find a Radio Shack and buy a track phone to put his sim card in.
I think it's almost bedtime for this old dog, early tee time @ MB National Kings North tomorrow morning :ac15[1]:

Sounds like a great vacation so far! I had to laugh at your "why does it seem like we're always eating" comment -- I swear the best I eat all year is when on vacation in MB! So many great, great places that we just "HAVE" to eat at! :D

As for the phone - if you can buy a bag of rice, pour it into a ziploc baggie and put the phone in there for a day or so. Thats worked to save a lot of phones that accidentally got "watered"!

So glad you are having a good vacation! Are you in a remodeled unit on the Plantation side? We saw one in building 9 when we were there in June and the remodel looks great!

Christine, this is definitely not a remodeled condo. The shower is so tiny in our room that's like a hippo in a phone booth everytime I shower :BandHead: .
Played golf at Myrtle Beach NationalKings North this morning. Really nice course, but lots of sand and water. Really enjoyed the round. Greens seemed to be a little beat up though, people are just too lazy to repair ball marks  . When I checked in, the desk clerk was concerned because he thought I made double tee times. I explained that the last name Brown was extremely popular, but he insisted on trying to make sure I wasn't double charged. So finally, in walks a couple and their last name was Brown, so the desk clerk could finally relax :???: .
Lunch time, so we headed to BATB and had lunch @ Tilted Kilt. Food and drinks were very good, including the bloody marys. Even though the waitresses are in skimpy outfits, there were several tables of just ladies and plenty of families dining also. We did notice that some of the waitresses were really working the tables of just men, kind of funny, because it was so obvious. Anyway, waitress asked me what I wanted, and I explained that since they named a sandwich after me (fat bastard meatloaf), it would be rude not to order it. I like it when they laugh at lame jokes so they can get a good tip :hello: . It was very good but way too much.
Daughter, wife, and grandkids arrived after we finished lunch sowe then headed to Wonderworks. This place is a crap shoot, some stuff is cool, some not so cool, and some that you can't enjoy because some moron is hogging it. Eddie dropped a coin into this spinning thingy and a couple older kids grabbed his coin and left. I caught up with them and had a slight confrontation. It was only a penny, but it was the principle of the fact they messing with a nine year old. One of the kids threw a coin at me, and I was real close to getting medieval on his ass, but I was able to walk away so I didn't get arrested. Personally,I wouldn't spend the money again. There is no supervision, and no control of patrons bogarting the exhibits. After we left, we headed back to the room so I could shower before heading out again for dinner.
El Burro Loco was the choice tonight, and as usual the meal was very good. Unfortunately they did not have any bloody mary mix so I settled for a Negra Modelo beer.

Kirk, I figured by now it was a given that I had a bloody mary every where I went  :drinkin: . Their's was actually the best so far, but mainly because of the olives and salted rim. My report must sound like I'm a drunk?!?!?! Normally I have one drink and then I have a Sprite. Normally that is :beerchug:

If anyone questions.... you've got the best rationalization...... "I'M ON VACATION !!!!!" :beerchug:

Shoot... I use that excuse even when I'm not on vacation.... :joker:

Breakfast @ Sea Captain's House this morning :nanner: :nanner: . What can I say, great view, great food, and reasonable price. Only 3.99 for kids buffet, and they let Gracie eat for free. If you've eaten at McDonald's lately, you know things aren't cheap anymore. Next on the agenda is the boardwalk. Stopped at ine of the many shops downtown so the boys could get a henna tattoo, and Gracie wanted a braid for her hair. Walked down to the 14th Ave Pier so the kids could go out on the pier and Tim and I could grab a drink. After all, it's my duty to check for good bloody marys. Same as the rest pretty much, but the Fat Tire beer was really good. Then it was off to the Sky Wheel so the rest of our gang could ride it. We waited and shopped in the Landshark gift shop. Beachtime for the kids,so we walked up to Dirty Don's and they all went to the water and I went in to Dirty Don's. I was just finishing my bloody mary went Phyllis showed up, so we just sat and relaxed and had a few drinks. Also grabbed an order of blackened oysters :notworthy: and a tee shirt. Life doesn't get better than this :rastanana: . We're now at the condo cleaning up. Cheri and Tim are getting a date night tonight, so Nana and I have the kids. Looks like mini putt, a movie, and possibly Hard Rock Cafe. Depends on what the munchkins want :dontknow: .

Ron sounds like you are having such a wonderful time!!! I have never tasted a Bloody Mary but then again I loathe the taste of tomato juice so maybe that could have something to do with it :drinkin: . Enjoy!!

I am glad someone else does not care for the taste of tomato juice...as for drinks...I much prefer Long Island ice tea...or just a beer...sorry, Ron! But I commend you on your diligent searching:)! Terry and I really enjoy our night s spent watching our grandkids...esp on vacations...Sounds like it is a great vacation so far...hope Irene does not interfere much...
