7/6 Well we left Wednesday morning at about 1 am to venture off to Myrtle Beach. Going was my father, mother, sister, brother, and my new girlfriend Corine. My best friend Shane who went the last 9 years had no money to go this year, so it was bound to be different. Driving through DC at night was insane, way too many relectors and people driving like they really need to be somehwere almost got me in an accident, not to mention I was tired and my eyes hurt from all the relections, I did my best to follow my father through all this. We stopped at a few rest stations, got a gas a few times, and ate lunch at Sonic in North Carolina, and I believe we were in MB by 1230. We stopped at Bi-Lo on Main Street for some quick groceries, and of course some beer haha. Very lazy day, we hit up the pool there, very nice and then ended up eating Papa John's and passing out at about 9 and slept until the next morning around 11. That ride killed all of us, everyone but my 18 year old brother...more to come.

7/7...woke up around 11-1130, ate some breakfast and headed straight to the pool which was only across the parking lot. It was very hot this day from what I could remember and I got a little bit sunburned (better now than at the actual beach). After we had lunch we went back to the pool then got ready to go out and eat. We hit up the K&W Cafeteria and I had the chicken pan pie. I always liked that as a youngster and it is still very delicious. After the Cafeteria we cruised around and headed to Barefoot Landing. I saw a neat hat I wanted at Ron Jon's as well as an awesome hoodie, but I got neither, gotta scan out all the other stores the rest of the trip and see if I see anything better. My gf, and my brother and I went to Johnny Rockets and I got a chocolate malt, soo good. We then left and cruised up and down Ocean Blvd for a bit then headed home and called it a night.

7/8 Friday came fast, went to the pool again and came back for lunch. Didn't do a whole lot this day, we went and got Taco Bell for dinner, then just drove around and went to a few beach shops, I found a neat shirt for my friend Kory that say's "Mr. Right" on it, which is what we call him, he loved it.

7/9 Same routine, woke up and went to the pool for a few hours. We made friends with a local who just moved there from New York in April, he was telling us about WaterTower road and how you can get to Broadway at the Beach with out hitting all the traffic. We took his advice as we were headed there that night to eat at Liberty Steak House. It started to pour as we got there and we waited outside and did the beer sampling, then proceeded in for dinner. I had very good ribs that night. We then walked around Broadway, looked at all the shops, and I saw another hat I wanted, decisions, decisions. We went to the new hot sauce place and tried all the samples, needless to say our mouths were burning and it almost felt like I was drunk after we had left. Took a ride down by the ocean and headed back to the room.

7/10 Sunday, wake up and all the same pool routine, this was our last time in this pool for the year so we stayed a little longer than usual, but we were moving on to a bigger place which was neat. That night we got ready and headed to Wild Wing Cafe in BL. The wings here are the best, I love all the different kind of bbq they have. I was even courageous and tried some ones I would never think of only because Corine wanted them. We walked around Barefoot Landing again, and I bought a hat finally at Lid's there which was a hybrid of the 2 I seen on our other 2 shopping experiences. (keep in mind the pool area and when we eat are only the only times the whole group is together my brother, gf, and I usually split up after things like that) We then went to some more beach shops and called it a night.

7/11 Monday, move out day, and move in day at the North Beach Plantation. We had to be out of the Barefoot Resort by 11, which we were so we headed to BATB to hit up Margartivaville for lunch. I had the bacon cheeseburger and everything was very very good. My brother wanted to go get some new flip flops at a shop so he went with my parents as Corine and I headed down to find a gas station, then we wen tto the Tanger Outlets near the Walmart. The PacSun store is gone? I was also very close to buying a button down in the Vans store for $10 but forgot lol. My family was already at the Plantation but the room was not ready, so we just got changed and went to the pool area and went in the ocean a bit as we waited. Around 2 or 3 I think it was done, we were on the 8th floor in the building facing the ocean. We were supposed to be in the other building, but who cares I like this one better. We got dressed and settled in a bit then went for groceries at BiLo on Main Street. Got a lot of beer for the night, and then headed to Just Chicken to eat, as my family went to Taco Bell again lol. Got back around 9, watched WWE Monday Night Raw for a little then went down to the pool area. We met some nice people from Maryland there who we talked to throughout our stay.

7/12 Tusday is to be the ultimate lazy day as nobody really does anything. We laid around and then went down the pool area for what seemed like forever, went in the ocean, came up ate lunch repeat. My mother made a skettie dinner for us that evening. It was very good, and we just kind of laid around watched tv and kept going back and forth from the pool to the ocean and decided to go mini golfing, in which I won!

7/13 Wednesday, days certainly start flying by on vacation and I hate it. Same deal, we wen to the beach had a blast went in the pools and got ready to eat at Hamburger Joe's which is only right across the street. We stumbled upon this place last year and it is rather amazing. The gold wings are to die for. I give everything 2 thumbs up, this may be my favorite place to eat athe beach as of right now. After we ate we cruised around for a bit then headed back to the condo. Just walked around a bit then fell asleep early I think lol.

7/14 Thursday...the day before the last day, don't want to think about that. Same beach deal alllll day. But when we came up for lunch my father offered to pay for all of us if we went on the banana boat as they were doing it right in front of our builidng all week. 20 minutes later and there we were. The ocean was very rough this day and our driver said it was the best day to come out, for some reason he took out out way further than he did other people. I asked him how far we were and he said close to 4 miles off shore, which looked crazy. On the way back in he set us up so a wave hit and my brother and Corine both fell off which made me fall off due to the shift of weight. I struggled and wanted to get back on that boat as fast as I could and couldn't I was so scared. The driver then helped us up and we were back on our way in. We then met up w. my parents in th epool sat around for a while then went up and ordered Papa John's again, lazy night afterwards.

7/15 Friday, the worse day mentally. We wanted to do something neat, we had no more beer so we drove to the gas station right outside the plantation and got these man cans of Joose, they were very gross but hit you rather quick. We drank them in the sun as we laid out, not a good idea. Friday is bittersweet as it is th elast day, but we get to go out at the Outback Steakhouse. We went in the pools and ocean for the last time, went up got ready and headed out there. Didn't wait too long, but our food was great, I have no idea how I eat so much when I'm there, I surpass my limits. We went to a few beach shops then called it a night and packed got ready for the dreaded ride home.

7/16 We didn't leave til about 11 thinking all the traffic would miss us, but we were wrong. We sat in Virginia on 95 for 2 hours and only moved 4 miles, this was horrible. We stopped a whole lot, took a different route home, and didn't get back into Frackville til about 130 am...not doing that again.

I hate leaving this place, and hope to relocate after I finish my degree. Any good jobs down there for someone with a BA in Political Science and a minor in Public Administation? I also want to get my real estate license, and maybe get into grad school, but my gpa is not the best

thanks enjoy

I enjoyed reading about your stay. We love Hamburger Joe's as well and next trip you have convinced me to try the wings. It is hard to leave but the memories are priceless. Thanks for sharing.

DC in general is such a hectic place to drive through so it doesn’t surprise me that people were driving like maniacs.

I think K&W is one of my favorite places to eat at the beach. My family and I always go there the first night we arrive. It’s cheap, the food is good and it’s just down the road from where we stay. It’s never a disappointment.

From what I remember, I think the Pac Sun store is at the other Tanger Outlet on 501 and not at the outlets near the Walmart.

Thanks for your trip report!

Thanks for the report. My son will be staying @ North Beach Plantation end of August.

If I fell off a banana boat like you did I wouldn't have had to crawl back on the boat cause I would have had a heart attack first and died  I've been on one and the shore is so very far away isn't it???

Sounds like you had fun. Thanks again.

Tyler, thanks so much for taking the time to write a trip report. Loved reading it, and it sounds like a had a lot of fun! After reading about your experience on the banana boat, I think I'll stick to the shore. LOL!

Tyler what are Joe's "Gold Wings?" I have heard them mentioned before in reviews but not sure exactly what type of wings they are.

So glad you had fun. The last day is always so melancholy...You'll just have to start planning for your next trip
