Can I start my trip report now ????

I am sitting here at work on the edge of my seat ready to say farewell to this place. We are pulling out at 8:00 A.M. in the morning for Columbia and will check in Windy Hill Dunes on Saturday.

I plan to check in from time to time throughout the week but will write my full trip report when I get back. I am a slow writer....Now with that being said I am planning to "try" and do my restaurant reviews daily.

For those of you that would please remember my son Ryan in your prayers. He is very prone to poison ivy and he had a patch on his foot that his flip flop kept rubbing. Well the place turned into staph yesterday. Within a matter of a few hours his foot was huge. We spent the afternoon at the Dr. where he received a shot and some strong meds. The swelling has gone down about 40% but still looks pretty bad. He had staph for the first time last summer while we were on vacation (we didn't know what it was and it got pretty bad..thought it was just a bump on his face  ) and it took him four and a half months to get rid of it. The Dr. feels like we got a very good grip on it this time and that it shouldn't be so hard to clear up, especially since we now know which meds work for him. Keep your fingers crossed that he doesn't have a painful week. Thanks

Yeah :wav: :wav: I am almost there

Hoping for a fast recovery for your son.

I hope you have a great time on your trip. I know from reading your post that you love your time at the beach. Ive actually stayed off the board for a while because of the depression that comes with knowing my next Myrtle Beach visit is almost a year away. Hopefully the weather cooperates and your week goes by slow. Have a safe trip.

Prayers for your son!! Hope he is able to enjoy his trip! .. I too am allergic to poison ivy and I'm diabetic so I avoid it if possible. We have a small area along the fence by the pool that needs cleaning/weeding and there is poison ivy there and I've been threatened to stay away. ...Enjoy to trip ... Looks as if you are leaving we are going down!

Have a good time. Hope Ryan does well. I've only been home 2 weeks and it seems like 6 months  Vacation goes way too fast.

Deanna,I hope Ryan is ok and you all have a great trip.
In wrestling I've seen quite a few staph infections and it isn't something to take lightly as it can get bad very quickly. I'm glad you and the doctors have a good grasp of it.Thats the key,to get the correct meds administered quickly.
Have agreat time and can't wait to read your report.
Ron

I hope Ryan is on the mend quickly! One of my friend's hubby had MERSA on his toe from a broken blister at a gym and it got ugly in a hurry! Glad you guys were on top of it! Have a great trip!

Just thought I would let you all know Ryan is doing much better. He played golf today and is headed to Hooters tonight  so he seems to be traveling right along. His swelling is gone and the sore is no longer draining which is a sign that the infection is clearing up. It doesn't look like this will be another four and a half months of trying to fight the infection or at least I hope. Thanks for all your concerns and prayers. It truly means alot.

We are having a great time...It is Hot, Hot, Hot and I am burnt on one side
