LOVE sunrise over the ocean...I am the only one in my family who will get up for it! I save up all the memories for when I am here in Ohio watching the sunrise. We have a nice view of the SE Ohio countryside from from our back deck but ocean sunrises are still my FAVE!

Sounds like you all had a great trip. I really enjoyed your report. I am impressed with the whole moped experience. 4 hours on a moped. Kinda thinking that might not be a good girl thing to do. I had to laugh at your choice of movies. Doug drug me to that movie and I should have been like Patti and chose a chick flick.

I know this is dragging on so I will bullet point the rest.

Thursday......
I slept late as Patti and Jordan went to breakfast.

We all went to the beach til Hurricane Earl drove the surf almost to the sea grass.

off to Calabash for lunch at Ellas and to walk around Callahans.GREAT lunch and we bought a few Christmas and nautical items at Callahans.

More shopping at beach shops and driving around.

Stopped for oysters at Rockefellers. While waiting for food we played those pull tab tickets that come out of a sort of vending machine. In N.Y. we have them in some American Legion posts. We ended up getting 3 emeralds on one ticket. $1000 :hello: What a great way to end the vacation. We split it 3 ways. Jordan bought X-Box on line equipt. amongst other things.Patti bought cloths and I bought a new bow for hunting.

Jordan and Patti to condo for Big Brother and then mini golf at Mt.Atlanticus and I was off to Murphys Law for the Bills preseason game.

After the game we all walked on the beach and enjoyed the night air. After an hour or so Patti went upstairs and Jordan and I hit the arcade for our evening ritual.

Upstairs to bed.

Friday and Saturday......
We were supposed to stay til Saturday but we decided instead of driving 14 hrs and leaving at 3.30 in the morning on Saturday, we'd leave after lunch and drive to Winchester Virginia, and the remainder of the way Saturday morning.

Hit the beach for awhile, loaded the car and off to lunch at El Carro Grande. We LOVE this place.

Said our tearful good byes to Paradise and we were on our way.Pretty uneventful til about 45 mins from Winchester, where we caught the edge of Earl.Watched the thermostat in the card rop 15 degrees, literally in 3 mins. Some stron rain for about 10 mins and then it was gone,or we passed by the edge of it.

Pulled into hotel and ordered pizza and watched t.v..Off to bed.

Up early and on the rd by 8.30. Pulled in the drivedway at around 2.30,happy to be home, but sad that it'll be almost a year before we can return to Myrtle Beach.

I hope you enjoyed our travels and as always, lets promise to stay in touch during the cold months. You have all really become my second family.

Ron

Ron, really enjoyed your trip report. It was like a mini series as you kept us waiting for the next episode. Sounds like you had a great family vacation. Congratulations on winning the large sum of money. Sure ended your vacation on a happy note. Especially liked the comments at the end about the message board. Your son is very fortunate to have such great parents. It always sounds like you really enjoy each others company.

Great report Ron. Wow, what a win. Nice to have it happen on vacation. I almost feel like I am there in Myrtle Beach when I read your report. I love family holidays and you retell it so well.

Deanna, trust me, we usually aren't either. It was a nice suprise.

Christine,I'm glad you enjoyed the report. I'm dreading the day that Jordan is "to old" to go on vacation with us. I hope it never happens.

Glad everyone enjoyed the report.

Thanks John. Jordan loves Myrtle Beach as much as Patti and I do,so let's hope you're right lol. As a matter of fact we have suggested Disney, a cruise, Cancuun,The Bahamas and Jordan isn't interested in any of them over Myrtle Beach. The only place that he'll consider going is Jamaica and Patti has no interest in going there.Soooo,it looks like Myrtle Beach every year, which I have NO problem with. We've been there every year since 1993,as it is.

ME TOO!! ME TOO! I enjoyed your entire vacation! :) My kids still come to the beach with us at ages 29, 28 &,25...the have gotten their husband, wife, and boyfriend on board with the idea of family time at Myrtle. Vacations with adult children are even more fun than when they were little! So you and Patti have many years to vacation with Jordan!

Hey Ron...great report. Our son is 22 and still LOVES to come along to Myrtle Beach with us. You are making Jordan's time spent with you now at the beach fun and a time to just be together without distractions. Memories are being built. I am sure he will want to continue that...

Great report. Always good to see one this time of year. I too, dread the day when the kids may not go. My parents always took us to MB when we were little all the way up to out mid-teen years. We always wanted to go up until the times it was more fun for us to throw the "parents are away" parties and trash their house. Anyway, once those days were over and all of us got married and had children we are all once again together at the beach.

Patrish,Emmy and Joann,I'm glad you enjoyed it. I just apologize that it took so long this year.Things were brutal at the office, for awhile.

Trashed house?? Jordan accomplishes that NOW :BandHead:
