Ron-- You're funny. I'm enjoying your report. Finding sharks teeth are like looking for morel mushrooms, once you find one, it's easier to find more. Otherwise, I think you just overlook them. Yeah, I'd go with that, you're just overlooking them!

Christine-ok,maybe I'll just keep looking

Cathy-At high tide it got a little tight but it wasn't too bad.Generally I waited til it went out a bit to hit the beach, but the people didn't look TOO cramped.

Lisa, yeah, sometimes I'm not the most patient person in the world.Maybe I just need to slow down a bit and they'll show up.

Patrish-I know, can you believe it??? Me with a 13 yr old and I'm only 25 myself  ok,26.

Sunday Aug-23rd.We decided to stay off the beach for a day being Patti is starting to look like beef jerkey.Well, not quite that bad but you get the picture. She's fair skinned and doesn't hit the sun too much so when she does she has to be careful.I guess she looks more like the inside of a medium rare steak
We decided to head to Pawleys Island and check out the Hammock Shop.We were not expecting to see a little village of shops. It was alot of fun walking around and relaxing on the porches of the shops,as Patti further pushed off retirememnt.I knew when I smelled plastic burning it was time to get her,and the credit cards out of there. What the heck though, between the doctors office and the hospital she puts in alot of hours.
The village was great. It was like a time warp.It reminded me alot of a place in Rochester called Genesse Country Museum. It educates on the past. The village has the actual buildings transported from around the country into a little town.It has blacksmith shops, candlemaking etc. They even have a baseball league that is played in a replica 1800's stadium with the same rules and uniforms etc.Really great place to visit if you're ever in Rochester.
After the village we had a quick bite at River City Cafe in Murrels Inlet. That was our first time at that one.Fun as usual. Then we did a little shopping at the surf shops.
Today is the WWE Summerslam pay per view and there is no way Jordan would let me miss it.Plus, being a wrestler I enjoy it too.
We decided on Spencerz in Sufside.Patti dropped us off and went back to the hotel to relax and watch Big Brother.Jordan and I loaded up on all the types of food I'm still trying to work off.
Patti showed up about half way through the ppv and ordered some food.Great show and a great time.
If you've never been to Spencerz it's right on 17 by 544.It's a Steelers bar/restaurant and has SEVERAL t.v.'s and screens and the food is really good.
We had a little cutie by the of Miranda waiting on us.Jordan commented on how pretty she was and how he liked her perfume.Patti wasn't amused :whip2:
After the show it was back to the hotel for some Buck Shot with Jordan and I,and a walk on the beach.Another perfect day in Paradise.

More to come

Ron

Aug 8-24-Well,we decided today to do the buffet at the House Of Blues.I have to say the set up of the place is pretty cool. The buffet was limited but fresh and well stocked. If I remember correctly it had grits, waffles, bacon, biscuits and gravy :notworthy: ,fruit, and a station where a cook made your omolets to order.Very nice.
After the late breakfast I started getting a POUNDING headache and really didn't want to do much.So we decided to stay in the air conditioning of the car and drive around. We checked out hotels that we may want to check out, and we made a list.We each picked a few.I have about 12 to look into when it's time to schedule the next vacation
After driving for about an hour and a half we headed back to the condo to get ready for the Pelicans game.We try to catch one everytime we head to M.B. It's such a fun time.It reminds us of the Rochester Red Wings here at home (former Orioles affiliate for about 30 yrs and presently the Minnesota Twins AAA farm club).
As were getting ready I head Patti yell and I run into the bedroom.Poor woman rammed her big toe into the night stand and ripped half of the nail off :ac17[1]: .Being the trooper that she is she just went about her business.Tough girl.
We head to the game and grab a bite of foot there for dinner.Jordan has a couple of hot dogs,as I do.Patti had the nachos.Couple of sodas for them and a few beers for me and all is right in the world. The headache is JUST beginning to fade.Thank you beer :drinkin: lol.The Pelicans won 4-2 and we had a blast sitting at the high tables along the visitors bullpen, on the left field line, watching the bored pitchers do tricks with the balls and drinking cups.
Back to the hotel so Patti can treat her toe, more Buck Shot (what is the real name of that game :BandHead: ) and a walk on the beach with my best buddy and son,Jordan.
Another night of falling asleep watching Sportscenter with Jordan.

Tuesday Aug25-Had a bagel for breakfast and hit the gym.I did something to my back because I'm in serious pain for the next 2 1/2 days, but this is vacation so I deal with it
I meet Patti and Jordan at the pools and hot tubs.I'm just soaking today and it's helping my back so I know it's just pulled muscles.
The dj is doing a great job getting everyone involved and Jordan actually won the limbo contest :nanner: It was alot of fun and I wish I had spent more time at the pools.
After awhile we go to the condo and get cleaned up to go to the Marshwalk and Dead Dog Saloon.DDS is one of my favorite places to go to sit on the deck and eat raw oysters.I had been waiting 2 yrs for this.
We get there at about 3.45 and get seated right away.Theres not alot of people at all so we should get served quickly right? After about 15 mins nobody even came over to get our drink order. Now I don't know if it was because my back was bothering me and I was being impatient, but I got up and we left.I was so disappointed and angry.
Well,on a good note we got to try Creek Ratz, which we had never been to.Patti had always wanted to try this place. They make the BEST Pina Coladas.I don't remember what we had but it was very good.It was only appetizers because we wanted to leave room if we wanted something later.
Now my back was really tightening up but I was determined to walk the Marshwalk, and as long as I didn't sit too long it wasn't TOO bad.
We had a GREAT time just wandering up and down the boardwalk checking out all the wildlife.Goat Island always makes me laugh.
If you have never been to the Marshwalk there is an island in the middle of the water (duhh lol) that goats are brought in to keep the vegetation down during the summer. It's fun to watch the little ones tease the big ones.
So after awhile I decide I want a drink and we end up at Drunken Jacks deck. The waitress was so friendly so we decided to have some New England clam chowder while we were there. The chowder was fantastic with huge chunks of clams in it.We'll be back for sure. And I WILL try Dead Dog Saloon again. It could have just been an off night for our server.
Back to the condo and we just hung out on the balcony and watched a little t.v. No beach walk or BucK Shot tonight.

So true Jo Ann. A holiday is what you make it. Sometimes you just have to go with the flow. Sounds like a good time for you and your family so far Ron. It is getting harder to wait until March for our trip but reading the trip reports almost make you feel as if you are there. Oh how we love Myrtle Beach! The funny part is my sister lives in Florida and we could go there and stay free. Her and her hubby visit us every year in March in Myrtle Beach. Christine.

Wed Aug-26-Today we decided to drive to Calabash and visit Callahans. If you haven't been there it is a HUGE place that has everything you could be looking for while on vacation. From nautical nick nacks to taffey to Christmas decorations to cloths to cd's to food etc etc.We LOOOVE visiting and picking up a few things.
As soon as we walk in Patti goes her way and Jordan and I head back to their Christmas decorations. They have the largest and most beautiful display I think I have ever seen.Jordan and I usually spend at least an hour in that area talking about all the different ideas we have for the house. We never seem to follow through though  This year we will because we spent about $200 on decorations.Patti complained a bit but I think secretly she was happy. We all really love Christmas decorations.
After a couple of hours at Callahans we decided to eat lunch.Right behind Callahans is The Boundary House. We've never been there before so we gave it a shot.
We were seated right away but our server wasn't all that "sunny".She didn't say or do anything wrong but I don't even know if she had teeth because she never smiled, and I'm pretty darn chaming I'll tell ya  .
The food ws good and decently priced. Can't remember what Patti and Jordan had but I had the gumbo.Pretty good but not as good as New Orleans. We will come back for sure.
After we left, Jordan decided he wanted to play mini golf.My back was bothering me still and I didn't really want to deal with that AND the heat, so we found Molten Mountain, and indoor course.Cute little course and we had a good time.I played horrible golf and Patti and Jordan tied for the win :BandHead: .
I had promised Patti I'd go to Barefoot Landing so I sucked it up and pushed on.Knowing the back was only muscular made it easier to deal with.
We ended up at the General Store and we're looking around and I yell "PATTI"!!! She thinks something happened to me and rushes over.I looked in her eyes,a tear almost forming in mine and say "I found them".She asks me what I had found.I say "them" as I extend my index finger, pointing to the most beautiful site I've seen, since the day Jordan was born. The pumpkin seeds I had been looking for for 20 yrs.
These were the seeds I had grown up with.Red wrapper with a indian head on the side. They no longer sell them in Rochester, and everytime I was in a different city or state I'd glance over the stands in the store ,with the childish hopes of just maybe finding them. And there they were.
I don't know if it was my outburst calling for my better half, the quiver in my bottom lip,or my holding the package in front of me and staring as if I was holding the key to the Holy Kingdom, but Jordan just rolled his eyes and walked away.
A purchase for $25 worth the pumpkin seeds and we were on our way(they're almost gone already  )
We continue to walk and shop for about and hour and a half and the family was hungry.OFF TO EL CARRO GRANDE was the command. One of our favorite places to eat in M.B. Great Mexican food, big portions, and good prices.
Back to the hotel to soak the back in the pool and hot tubs.A few beers and a lttle Buck Shot (NAME GRRRRR) and it's off to Lala Land.
Another great day,and I have my seeds "sniff sniff"
Ron

Emmy,

That is a neat site that I did not know existed. No chance in the world I would eat pumpkin seeds but I did a search on a cologne I could not find. Know I have lots of places to buy it. Thank you for sharing this site.
