OK, I just can't get enough of the Pepper Palace! They have free samples of sauces and salsas and chips to put the sauce on. So many different flavors... this is a MUST stop for me every trip to Broadway at the Beach.
But I have to tell a funny story about myself... we stopped at the Pepper Palace during our Spring Break trip in March and I was making my way around the store reading bottles and sampling sauces (while Misti rolled her eyes and waited patiently for me to get my fill). I wasn't quite paying attention and ended up in the REALLY hot section. I grabbed hold of a sauce and liberally coated a chip. The next thing I knew, smoke was coming out of my ears, my throat was bleeding (not really), and tears were flowing (that's true). I looked at the bottled with the appropriate name of "Burn A$$ Hot." Had a big warning label for "Ghost Peppers, the hottest pepper in the World."
I couldn't speak, but I had to get something to drink RIGHT NOW! I went running out of the store with Misti chasing me, looking for a water fountain or anything. Heck, I would have drank out of the toilet if I could have found the restrooms. I ran around in circles for awhile and Misti's look of amusement changed to genuine concern. We found a Yogurt shop and she had to order for me. $8 later, I had my spoon full of yogurt and my mouth went from Nuclear to just numb. Misti asked me if I'd ever do something that dumb again, and of course the answer was "yes." I can't wait to stop by there again during our next visit.
