Broadway at the Beach launches new live webcams

Broadway at the Beach visitors no longer have to travel to see what’s going on at the shopping center since the attraction installed three webcams the stream live to the Internet.

The cameras launched Wednesday and give anyone with an Internet connection a glimpse into what’s happening at one of three areas within Broadway at the Beach.

Visitors to the shopping center on Thursday said they weren’t surprised by the new cameras.

“I figure there are cameras everywhere now. It doesn’t bother me, as long as I’m not doing anything bad,” Pat Schettler said, who was visiting Broadway at the Beach from Kansas City, Kan

Thanks for the link. Makes me miss MB just a little bit more though. Kids are already back in school here, so summer for us is pretty over. I'm so not ready for the warm and sunshine to end, but I guess it's all downhill from here.

Well I may never get off the computer now

Does anyone else remember the webcam Broadway used to have? I have often wonder why they and Barefoot didn't have one. I would think it would be great pr.

Well it is great pr for me. Love it!

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the link.

Please remind me to never sit on that bench please. They should put up a sign that if you sit there you are on the web cam.

Well more bad news. The stream is broken on main camera, so Broadway is down to one camera now! :BandHead:

I love watching these cameras, hopefully they'll get fixed before much longer.

I keep all the cam information updated on my cam page. Please check there for updates:

I received a call from Broadway at the Beach on 10/1. Their management (Burroughs & Chapin) has decided not to continue web cam service at the venue. I'm sorry. I will miss the cams too

Yeah thats were I read it Patrish. You have a great webcam resource page going. Now I have no reason to visit the Broadway website. I'm sure many others will agree. Terrible choice by Burroughs & Chapin.

Patrish, do you care to post their email address? Maybe a few emails can tell them how important the cam was to visitors.

The e-mail is:
batb@bccompany.com

Mailing address:
1325 Celebrity Cir, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577

My contact in the past has been Melissa Armstrong. However, when I talked to her last (at the end of Sept.) she told me a corporate decision had been made to not renew the cams.

Thanks, Don. Sometimes that's the best thing the public can do. My web cam page - which is not the only one in the area - has been bringing in thousands of people per day. I don't think the various venues realize the large number of people who follow their cams.
