Hi All,

Only 29 days until our vacation!

My son and daughter (7 & 10 years old) both enjoy skimboarding.

I just wanted to ensure skimboarding is permitted on the beach. I know I had read rules before, but I think that was applicable to surfing, not skimboarding.

We are staying at Dunes Village resort, so most of the skimboarding would be done on the beach there.

Thank you!

Your kids can skimboard, caution them to be careful of others, I have seen older person knocked over by a runaway board and others have been hit.

I'm a boogie boarder myself but love watching the kids do skim boarding. I'd probably break my neck. I'll bet some of you would like that though!!

No Phroggy, no one wants to see you get hurt, but a video of you falling could be funny :) I enjoy watching older people, anyone over 30 attempting to skimboard, you just know they are going down and will be good for laughs. With the exception of Jen, who bartends on the GC Pier, she is always out in front of the pier on Sat and Sun before work and she is good.

Sort of related.. once in OC, MD. I watched this older man (probably in his 70's) riding an innertube. He caught a wave in and just MOWED over this young child standing at the shore. He just laughed and laughed and went back for more.

I felt bad for the kid, but I laughed until my sides hurt. Just the pure joy in this old mans face.. too funny!

We saw a 10 year old break his ankle this past Wednesday skimboarding. They were staying in our building with other family members so we did get an update on him. The family ended up going home. Now that would be a bad way to end a vacation.
